Help me understand how the Raptor R is way more truck than a TRX. Aside from weight they are pretty aligned. I would struggle to pay an extra 10-20k more for a Raptor R. Not to mention ADM.

Lookswise.. since my boss has a TRX and a Raptor R..

TRX sounds insanely better. Raptor lookswise i LOVE it. the hood is sick af, and hes getting a custom set of wheels made for it. Cant wait to see them on

With ADMs the Raptor R is not worth it, but at MSRP it’s very closely priced to a TRX. Everything, interior, features, styling, transmission, engine, cooling, suspension. It’s all better on the Raptor R.

Granted, some of that is subjective, but, at it’s core, the TRX uses a pushrod V8 and 8spd with older technology. The Raptor R uses the Predator 5.2L from the GT500 with the significantly better 10spd transmission.

The Raptor has much better suspension, but still, its the special olympics for both as far as offroad capability.

The ZF 8spd is superior to Fords 10spd. It's not even close.

I'd also take a "simpler" Hellcat 6.2 over the morning complex and bespoke GT500 engine.

Truth on the trans.

Although you'll never convince me the boat anchor hellcat motor is better than the best Coyote to date. Not even a fair comparison IMO.

I disagree, the GT500 motor is the best Ford has created to date. It revs smoothly, sounds amazing and spins to 7k+ RPMS, (8k+ with a tune) for a huge powerband. Combine that with the gearing of the 10spd. Not to mention, Ford worked some serious magic with cooling, my GT500 will run back to back to back and not be impacted by heat soak. Shops are also running 7s with the factory longblock in the GT500 as a testament to it’s durability.

There’s nothing special about a pushrod with a noisy valvetrain that redlines at 5,500rpms with the characteristics of a dump truck engine. If I’m spending $100k on a truck, I want something that looks and feels special.

Also, the 10spd in the Raptor is not the same 10spd as the regular F150.

Maybe it’s 8s, although I coulda sworn they broke into the 7s.

This is with the STOCK DCT

Yes, 8s --AND-- That car has a MPR built motor, definitely NOT stock.

I'd be willing to bet there are exactly 0 gt500s running 7's on the stock motor.

We have a Raptor, I should be excited about this truck. Im just not. Great truck for what it is, just not for me. I'll stay on the sidelines for this one.
