By some of yalls logic, if the planes wheels are spinning, it should therefore fly?

The question is designed to throw people off by saying "wheel speed matches conveyor speed" when in reality the wheel speed is less relevant than Goose being a driving instructor.

Wheels and their speed is irrelevant. Wheels only hold the plane up from the ground. what gets the plane moving is thrust. This will be generated regardless and will move the plane to the required lift. Plane takes off.

Look at the geometry. Compare the height of the conveyor to the landing gear spacing. Then look at the nose to front gear length.

It's pretty clear the plane will push itself off the end of the conveyor and stick the nose into the ground.

It's going nowhere. More likely break up and catch fire.

isn't thrust moving the plane so that wind speed is generated. If the plane isn't moving because of the conveyor then no wind speed so no flight? What gives a plane lift is the air moving across the wings. No speed( Plane not moving ) so no lift

Theres not enough information to solve the question.

You need to know the speed of the treadmill and the speed of the plane. Without those 2 factors, then it's internet frenzy.

Ultimately, you must have lift, which would require the plane to travel faster than the treadmill.

If the plane is traveling 100mph and the treadmill is equal in speed. You ain't going nowhere until you change one of those 2 elements.

imagine the plane, being suspended in the air by a string…. Upon the generation of thrust, it would begin its path forward…. This would be independent of wheels in the air, or in this case, wheels in a conveyor belt….
