Challenger/Charger going away, Camaro going away.
That does not look good for the Mustang.
It took those vehicles to drive the Mustang to better performance.
With them gone, what is the incentive to build a Mustang? Outside of having the only real Muscle car on the market?
I have never been a fan of GM or Fiat, but those brands made the Mustang better.

I disagree with this… 2003 is when the Mustang (Thanks Terminator) took off.

Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009.

6th Gen Charger didn’t come out till 2006 I believe?

2007 Seen the intro to the Shelby GT500…

I’m not saying I want to seem them go away, nor am I saying that competition isn’t a good thing… BUT….

The Mustang has done very well despite GM and Dodge sucking fat dick all those years.

Discontinue the charger is really surprising considering lots of law enforcement buy them. Ford changed the crown Vic’s to the explorers and they sold well. Chevy had the impala and caprice which changed to the Tahoe. Chrysler only really had the charger to sell with the exception of the grand Cherokee but you don’t see as many sold. It’s like the sedan in general is being killed off and a cross over shoved down peoples throats. Soon there is going to be one type of car and the only difference will be color. Seems boring

My hope is that very few to no one spends their money on any new fake EV "muscle cars" and manufacturers that go all in on BEV's lose their ass. I also hope that businesses that revive and restore ICE muscle thrive.

Until Americans relinquish range anxiety, which isn’t really Anxiety as much as it’s a failure of EVs to make long distance trips without becoming Oregon trail….

IMO, EVs will never dominate the vehicle market.

I agree with what you are saying at a high level, but to say the Mustang is doing "well" is very relative. Compared to the Camaro, absolutely. Compared to the Chally, which is largely the same car since 2008, depending on your measure, could be debatable. Overall, the last two generations of the Mustang have been their worse sellers, in an ever shrinking segment.

Like it or not, without their expanding the Mustang line into crossovers and EV's, it would have likely died a slow death, or been relegated to nothing more than a very small line of niche SE vehicles, completely departing from it's original purpose. It sucks, but the writing is on the wall.

Honestly dodge knows what the future holds. Armies of nonbinary‘s and transgender‘s. Why not introduce the first transgender of the car world? Fake muscle car with fake muscle car sound.

Exactly. Push back with your wallet. EV’s are snake oil hypocrisy that wreak havoc on the very thing we’re told they protect.

I don’t know about you lot but I can’t afford to spend close to $200k replacing mine and my wife’s vehicles with this electric bullshit and add charging capability to my home. Plus, any money I’m supposedly saving on gas now goes to the electric company? Lol no thanks.

Most of us are not supposed to be able to afford EV’s though. The plan is us serfs are supposed to move into the cities, live in commie blocks and eat bug burgers while the elite gobble up more resources.

In all seriousness, i have always said this. Its not about replacing your ICE vehicle with an EV. It’s getting you out of your personal transportation and using a ride share service or public transportation. Writing is on the walls. The raw materials cost and availability alone prove this. Its a joke.

Besides the fact that I don’t like EV’s, that is one of the main reasons I won’t buy one. The government, the elites and the globalists can shove them up their ass.

Ride share and public transportation only work well in big cities, and even then using public transit sucks ass most of the time.
Get outside the cities and ride share or public transportation is near impossible.
Years ago, when I ran my own business just outside of Portland Oregon, I had to pay what was called a "Tri-Met" (tri county metropolitan transportation) tax. I looked at the map of coverage for the region and found my business was 5 miles outside of where any bus or other form of transit was serving. I asked why I had to pay a tax for a service that neither myself or customers could use and was told that "you are in the district, you have to pay."
Typical mindset of Bureaucrats.

Explorers practically all over Cali for the past 5? years

3.0 Police Interceptor are the fastest, one of the most spacious and top at MPG vs the previous PI's.

Law enforcements buddies have no complaints and preferred it vs the previous Explorer and Charger.
I've been told they are very well rounded vehicles. They even soundly beat all the other purpose built police cars not just in a strait line but around corners, hot lapping on several road courses. Even when they are heat soaked. The fact Wichita PD started buying them over the Tahoes was a surprise as even when the crown vic ruled the market they were running the fwd impala (thought they basically had Pontiac 3800s) Sheriff went to chargers, KHP Charger and Challengers and now the Ford Pursuit SUV. Just like on the water "the bigger boat wins" So when everyone has SUV's they feel the need to get something that can not be pushed away by the majority of crossovers. It's like an arms race.

We cannot make it past the Kansas River at this point. Sarah has died from dysentery and we are out of ammo when it comes to electric, especially trucks and suvs.
We need essentially indirect drive hybrids using solid state capacitors instead of heavy expensive batteries (at least in the base, and a plug in option with a battery), like a mix of tech from the first volts or a diesel locomotive.
A little diesel generator, powering the electric motors like a train. Even in a truck that would be the reasonable course of action for the real world if you want to move to electric.
As stated before this is not about electric, it's to get us to give up personal vehicles, at nearly any cost.

Fake ICE sound system sounds like an electric razor. So dumb.

At least this time around the Gran Turismo games will nail the sounds as they already sound like that haha

I can already see it
*Disclaimer
Car decreases 100 miles per full charge when exhaust sound is on*

Or a monthly fee to unlock the"exhaust sound"

….oh well. ICE had a good run. Nothing we can do about it but drive our old vehicles until gas stations are obsolete. Whatever.

I disagree, Tezz. While what you said is true today (and it will be true for the next couple/few years), EVs will gradually be the only choice if you're buying new. Manufacturers will design and market EVs (mostly SUVs/trucks but SOME cars) with looks and features that people want. By then, I expect that the majority of the U.S. will have embraced EVs. We're not at that place today, but sadly, it will eventually come. JMO.

So cringe. That whole presentation reeked of desperation. “We’re still cool, we promise. C’mon guys.”
I didn't feel any desperation in Ken's presentation. What I DID see was a car manufacturer intent on doing the absolute best to design/build EVs (cars & SUVs/trucks) that stir the senses. Well, except for maybe the sense of hearing. LOL. While I could probably, in rather short time, adjust to a quiet EV (with styling like the Charger Daytona), I don't think I could adjust to the digitalized exhaust easily.

The next 3-5 years are going to be interesting as we watch manufacturers walk down the same road and discontinue ICE models and replace them with EVs. JMHO.

Range is a real issue. They simply will not work for me. Certainly not in the winter. Surely I am not the only one who drives a bunch every few days or once a week. They get to 300 mile range year around and then it’s a different story.

Every OC Sheriff vehicle by me is an Explorer. I see a handful of CHP Chargers, but mostly Explorers. My friends in the OC Sheriffs who were concerned about lack of speed in the 3.3L Hybrid Explorers (not that a 5.7L Charger is truly fast) had no concerns when they drove a 3.0EB Explorer.
Arkansas state police has proven that the 5.7 charger will do work on the interstate.
