I did read that there was originally a Justice League trilogy planned, but after Snyder split ways that all got cut, with no plans to revive it. Along with a couple other stand-alone movies meant to follow Snyder's JL.

The 4:3 ratio is the original way it was shot for IMAX. It wouldn't be a wider field in a theatrical version , they would just crop it down to that ratio. So, you are actually seeing more of the movie than what you would see in say 16:9 or such.

On anther note, I am 2 hours in, and they still haven't got to a certain pivotal resurrecting moment of the original. I am really enjoying it, and if this is what we would have originally received, even cut down a bit... The DC universe would be on par with MCU.
I get that. I have rendered scenes before in 1:1 aspect ratio. Then if I crop it down to widescreen I lose the upper and lower material. Then again if I expand a 1:1 image to a 16:9 or wider I could potentially have more material on the sides and keep the vertical content as is. The reality is TV's and theaters have widescreen aspect ratios and it will bug some people if the image does not fill it properly. I guess I'll have to watch it to see if it bothers me or not.

I grew up with 4:3 screens and back in the 80's and 90's all computer screens had that kind of aspect ratio. 640×480, 800×600, 960×720, 1024×768, 1280×960, 1400×1050, 1440×1080 , 1600×1200, 1856×1392, 1920×1440, and 2048×1536

So when widescreen computer monitors came out it took some getting used to. I was playing Quake 2 and 3 on 4:3 screens and the widescreen format really bugged me. Now I am on the other side and 4:3 bugs me lol!

I don’t follow the comics, so I’m not sure if you’re referencing them or wanting Jeffrey Dean Morgan

JDM played Thomas Wayne in BvS (the actress who plays Maggie on TWD played Martha Wayne). In Flashpoint, Flash accidentally changes history and Bruce ends up being the one shot in the alley. Thomas becomes a brutal version of Batman and Marth becomes the Joker.

I watch the DC stuff for Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash involvement.
Cannnnnnnot stand Ben Affleck

Surprisingly, me and my wife made it 2 1/2 hours w/o walking away.
She did decide that we should pause after Ben Affleck was getting on my nerves, and I said,
" I wonder who does Bens big boy voice when he is in batman costume? He doesn't have a big boy voice, I'll have to watch the end credits to see who it is."

Wife said, turn it off

Movie was good, I like Ben Affleck but yeah he was doing his thing from "The Accountant" (also a really fun movie) kind of autistic Batman. I do not like fantasy universe movies but this was an okay watch.

Chris Reeve rendition of Superman? Sure. Michael Keaton films in the D.C. universe? Definitely. Arkham series of games? 100% Anything else though seems like comparing Go Bots with Transformers when it comes to the D.C. Universe and Marvel.

Content wise, I think DC has better characters and stories than Marvel, but it comes down to the leadership at Warner Brothers being a bunch of morons who don't know what they are doing.

Marvel is excellent at adapting characters to the big screen and has hit on every character casting.
(Ignoring Nolans batman)DC is like a bunch of chimpanzees throwing shit at a white board hoping it sticks. So far they nailed Gal Gadot as WW. Superman and Aquaman seemed like good hits too.
Story wise too they can't seem to nail down the perfect mix of time, content and what direction they want each story to go.

It was probably sent back for some reason, and should have been resold as a refurb.

If WB had hired Kevin Fiege or someone with his talents then I think DC would have had the same success as Marvel. They just don't have anyone that knows the content like he does. He even offered to help them develop but they never took his offer as far as we know.

I heard WB is casting a black man for the next Superman Reboot. Some things are just what they are. Superman is an alien that happens to have light skin. People just need to deal with that.

Movie was great, dragged in some areas but that was expected considering its the "director's cut".

My only gripes was the overused of slow mo's in the first half and the Amazonian yell track song... too many and unnecessary. Much better than the Whedon movie, I cant imagine what his head went thru in a ton of the changes he made.

Just imagine if we got the Snyder cut and all the supporting reshoots and such that would have happened if it was the one that went to the big screen originally.

The slow-mo shots didn't bother me too much but the Amazonian theme song that kept popping in whenever WW did pretty much anything got pretty annoying lol.

Pretty much lol

But the final scene with Flash was just.... man I wouldve love to see that in theaters. Everything was perfect, dialogue, music, it was one of my favorite superhero movie scene's of all time.

I cant believe they replaced that with the stupid pushing the family's truck to save em scene.... SMH

I agree completely! That scene with The Flash and then with Cyborg as well once as he was accessing and inside the Unity were excellent scenes that I can't believe were cut in the theatrical version. The ending fight scene was so much better too with how brutal the beat down on Steppenwolf was. I can't say I expected any of that ending sequence to happen at all, but I'm glad it was in there. Aside from the Amazonian music, I thought the overall change in the soundtrack was really good as well.
