My dream play this week is market selloff monday into tuesday morning... then im2 going ballz deep in $AMZN $GOOGL for a turnaround tuesday into earnings.
Amzn chart has me rock hard... googl is trending up nicely too... just gonna split the play.

Silver spikes as retail buyers try squeeze play
Silver spikes as retail buyers try squeeze play
- Silver futures (XAGUSD:CUR) are surging to open the week, popping as much as 7.4% to $28.99/oz. for the highest level since mid-August, after last week's Reddit-fueled rally lifted the metal 15% higher since last Wednesday's close.
- The latest spike comes after retail sites were overwhelmed with demand for bars and coins on Sunday, with outlets such as Apmex and Money Metals saying they were unable to process orders until Asian markets opened because of unprecedented demand for the metal.
- "The Reddit crowd has turned its sights on a bigger whale in terms of trying to catalyze something of a short squeeze in the silver market," says Kyle Rodda, an analyst at the IG Markets brokerage in Melbourne. "The most important factor here is that silver is heavily shorted, the paper market is much, much larger than the underlying commodity can justify... There's a lot of commentary on these platform to pile in to the miners."
- Some Wall Street analysts already had been positive on silver's outlook as part of a broad upswing in raw materials, with Goldman Sachs calling last week for a $30/oz. price target.
- ETFs: SLV, SIL, PSLV, AGQ, USLVF, SIVR
- On watch will be First Majestic Silver (NYSE:AG), which soared 30% during Thursday-Friday trading, and the likes of Pan American Silver (NASDAQ:PAAS) and Coeur Mining (NYSE:CDE), which sported ~15% gains over the two days.
- "Even a small shift in demand from cryptocurrency holders towards precious metals could have huge and potentially long-lasting implications for silver prices," Stuart Allsopp writes in a bullish new analysis published on Seeking Alpha.
Silver surges past $30 as retail investors pile in
- Silver futures (XAGUSD:CUR) +10.6% to $29.78/oz. after briefly hitting $30.03/oz., its highest level since February 2013, as the metal takes center stage in the retail investor frenzy sweeping through markets.
- Avino Silver & Gold Mines (NYSEMKT:ASM), a $110M market-cap miner, +144.7% pre-market and reportedly has been the most-actively trending stock on Google search.
- "Google search trends show a substantial pick up in interest since last Thursday and in our view, the price action is only likely to beget more interest in the short term," says RBC analysts led by Tyler Broda.
- Other silver-exposed miners that are surging include: CDE +35.2%, AG +32.4%, SVM +26%, HL +25.4%, EXK +24.8%, MUX +23.9%, SILV +23.1%, AUMN +22.1%, FSM +18.6%, GATO +18.1%, AXU +17%, PAAS +13.6%, WPM +11.4%.
- The iShares Silver Trust ETF (NYSEARCA:SIL) +16% pre-market after jumping 6% last week.
