I don’t watch NBA tv to see what someone like JR Smith has to say about Police Brutality. I/we pay for an athlete’s services...to play a game, not to see social messages on jerseys. We pay for NBA tv or the NFL network to watch Sports news.
You’re a millionaire who puts a ball in a hoop or catches a football after running a route.
That’s my issue with athletes and their protesting. I’m not allowed to do it at work, and that’s how it should be. Work is work, not some place to sway the mindset of others on social issues.
I can guarantee almost everyone of these athletes would wipe that social message off of their jersey or stop kneeling if their paycheck would stop coming in. That’s my issue.
And protesters.... that’s a whole different subject. We couldn’t have church or funerals but it was okay to protest!? That’s one of my biggest problems.
This culture we live in these days where everything is offensive of what is going to take down this country.

In a word for me?,….Freedom. I don’t like the idea of someone that thinks they know better for me, or is operating under the guise of one cause in name, in order to affect the change in something else. Hate people that believe they are morally superior.

I’m not cheering for anyone getting hurt or violence conducted. At my age, I can’t even watch those damn videos with skateboarders crashing. And I used to like those videos. I hate waste, or destruction of something that someone else built/paid for.

As a general rule I trust law enforcement, and certainly in the middle of an “event” I trust law enforcement. The main reason I do is because you can use the legal system to get square after an event if law enforcement acts badly. Not so much true the other way around.
Also, people lie. They lie when they are affronted in the midst of committing shenanigans, they lie after, and they lie even when they are shown the evidence or proof of their shenanigans. Then you have the next level liars that change describing words, make excuses, omit relative information.
So if law enforcement sees someone that they think is, or did, commit shenanigans, yeah I think it is material.

Beaten for no good reason?....no good reason? Assuming you are referring to the current events in Portland or Seattle as an example, there are people conducting mayhem against citizens, citizens property, attacking law enforcement, theft, and random acts of violence. Why would a person put themselves in harms way to be there, unless they wanted to be a part of those things?
I like a good rally, and even a protest. But that is not the only means by which to protest. And frankly the way they are going about “protesting” like blocking traffic, pulling people out of their cars and beating them, blocking interstate highways (a remarkably bad idea), pulling down statues, and moving on to destruction of property, theft, and arson I’d say there is more than enough reasons.

Anyone can say anything they want in my view. I am not looking for some higher knowledge to come out of Taylor Swift, just some music. Because someone is good at one thing, does not make them good at something else. We could have a discussion on that topic by itself.
And lots of politicians don’t make any damn sense either, and we elected them.

I'm a patriot, a veteran and a political science major. I love this country and hate the government. I have a strong distaste for police. I don't believe in the pledge of allegiance. I believe that people have the right to do as they damn well please right up to the point that they inflict harm on others. These rioters are f'ing retards who don't know what they are talking about. I view them as enemies because they proclaim that America is inherently evil. They ignore the fact that this country was founded on the ideas that led to the greatest expansion of freedom and prosperity to individuals of any race, religion or creed than ever witnessed in the history of this planet.
IMO anyone who starts a topic then tucks tail and runs should be exiled.
