I spent Black Friday at Laguna Seca for the NorCal Shelby Club track day. Lots of Mustang GT350s, but also everything from Vipers to a McLaren 570 to Corvettes. It rained off and on during the track day, but here was a nice dry session with only moderate traffic.

(note as usual, I need part throttle between T5 and T6 to pass sound. I've measured a 2-second lap time delta between an unrestricted lap and this approach)

Pretty awesome. I'd love to drive Laguna Seca one day after having turned hundreds of laps behind a Playstation and Xbox controller. What tire are you running on that car? I saw a max of 1.9G on turn 9... not too shabby.

These laps were on some very old (250km) Michelin roadrace slicks (hard compound). Turn 9 has some high G forces because it's banked; T4 is more representative of steady-state cornering with some assistance from the aero.

Err, scratch that. At 16:57 the Mustang is pulling 2.0 Gs as I accelerate off of T4. That's some aero grip!!

Awesome footage.
Liked the different lines in t2/t9....but what a buzzkill for 5/6!

Right after had to rewatch the Sonoma vid for the 10th time.

Seems like you had a fun day. My buddies went on Saturday, but it did not look like that. Their videos involved a drift session due to the rain lol.

I thought about going but I am still in the middle of piecing together my brake upgrade.

There's a decibel meter there?

So if you went full throttle/over the max decibel, they could kick you out?

Another fun piece of CA trivia....When flying out of John Wayne airport, the pilot is not allowed to go full power on take off due to noise constraints. True story.

But i digress! Back to this great video that Ben shared....

That's awesome...must be a blast! Although, I think you should get your transmission looked at...it sounds like it needs some work...

Great video, that car shifting through the gears is intoxicating. Love the Daytona as well. Thanks for sharing.

Here's the location of the meter:

They black flag you and make you come into the pits where they explain to you that you can't go over 90db. If you get 3 black flags, your track day is over.
