I have an MGW short throw shifter with a stock shift knob. Looking to get a ball shift knob. Wife’s civic si has an aluminum ball shift knob and a like the way it feels a lot better. Her car you can shift with 2 fingers lol. Our cars are very notchy. So, heavy or light shift knob? Give your reasoning, thanks.

I have an MGW shifter. I ran an MGW gripper ball for a while. I have switched to a heavy shift knob from Anarchy Motive. I like the heavy knob much better.

I don't like the feel of Steel and I hate it even more when it's hot or cold out. Nothing like grabbing a burning hot shift or one that's frozen solid.
I lay a yellow microfiber rag over the shift knob when I'm not driving. I live in GA, so cold isn't a concern.

The leather seats are worse than the shift knob.

Does your Atlas sit lower than our “stock” shifter? If so I might consider the Mammoth as it looks a bit taller but smaller in diameter
You can have the knob sit lower if you would like. I have a jam nut under the knob, and if I want I can lift it back to the same height as the MGW.

The two pics also have different MGW handles. The handle with the Anarchy knob is a standard (medium) with one bend. With the shift ball set low I have the same throw as the race handle.

I have the weighted shift knob from Anarchy Motive. They're heavy af, but I love it. With my MGW short throw shifter and the heavy knob the car is notchy and better shifting imo....and it looks sweet :D

I’m looking forward to a ball weighted shift knob, just a matter of which one. I bet your left calf is bigger than your right and your right arm is bigger than your left lol

I liked the weighted knob my car came with. But it was low on the shifter. And being short armed I had an issue with the 2nd-3rd shift. Ended up with a stock style shift knob.

I have a Flossy heavyweight griptape in black on my MGW. I like it, has a good texture and weight. Haven't noticed a huge issue with the heat, but I live in NW Oregon. The heavier seemed to smooth the shifter out a little, but I like the notchy.

I have a weighted black shift knob and I’ve been thinking about getting a factory shift knob. Would you be interested in a trade?

I had an aluminum ball in my old Camaro and it burned like crazy in the summer sitting with the windows up. I used a poly (cue ball style) ball in my Cobra. Now THAT, I loved. It was nicely weighted and felt very comfortable.

I like that Raceseng.com red ball. Mine was similar with a different font.
