not at my post...
I use mine all the time. But i assume it will fail and kill me so i position my body according. I always use jack stands.

Bingo, who the **** in their right minds would get under a car just supported by the jack? I don’t car who makes the jack, always use jack stands.

I use their jacks. No issues so far with the 3 ton guy. Not that heavy to move around either.

I use the 25% off for bigger things. 3 in 1 metal brake, 2 speed mill, 21 gal compressed, air tools, bench top sandblaster...

Wait, what? The coupons say they aren't good on air compressors. Are you saying they let you do it? My Sears compressor just crapped out and I was thinking of trying a HF one since I don't use it that often.

Ive been told there is nothing in the system that prevents a coupon from being used, the associate has to do their job. If they dont know better or dont care sometimes theyll put it in anyway. I used a coupon on an engine hoist. The coupon said you cant use it on jacks, I told her it's not a jack, put it in and see if it works and it did.

Thanks! I'll give it a try. Worst they can say is no and best option is I save some money.
not sure who makes their compressors, but they now list brands that the coupons don't apply to. Their new power tools line is excluded from coupon use.

The air compressors from what I've experienced are pretty weak, I wouldn't get a HF compressor.

what failed? My sears one works fine but im waiting for it to commit suicide. The first one locked up after a few months.

It locked up. It's 15 years old though so I can't complain to much. With the advent of electric power tools now I'm rarely finding the need for my compressor. I've just been using it for airing up tires and the occasional use of a cut-off wheel or grinder. I now use my electric power tools as I don't have to drag a hose around with me.

My dad's old belt driven comrpessor is over 30 years old. I guess they dont them like they used to.

I started using mine for tires only with very little other use. My electric impact is a beast.

I think a big issue is the American consumer has been sucked into dependency on low cost, low quality, made wrong in Hong Kong goods at the cost of American jobs and made in the USA quality.

I grew up on a farm, you bought something good, took care of it, and it might last a lifetime. If some jackass didn't steal it.
Just my 2 cents.

Pretty sure a HF jack-stand is going to last a life time.

The other issue as a Farmer you could justify the ROI since you’d be using it for a life time. Most DIY hobbyists are going to only use it once or twice and don’t want to invest in something like that.

Also, others have grown wise to many things. Snap-On, Mac, Armstrong, Proto... are some of the most over priced hand tools going. It’s like buying a Rolex because you need to know what time it is.

Now measurement tools, calipers, gauges, micrometers, torque wrenches; that is where you should spend the money.

My dad, brother, and uncle worked at snapon, and from what I have seen that product has taken a big nose dive.
You are right, I have worn a Rolex for decades and it not about the time.

I have several things from HF. Lets see...
Daytona Jack 3 ton. (Its kickass) 1 year hundreds of uses
2 ton steel low profile (Also kickass) 4+ Years on it and hundreds of uses
3 ton jack stands (Bent 1 from my SRT8 Jeep) Probably should invest in 6 tons here
HF Pro 1/2 Impact sockets(Are BEAST) Been using them for years, No failures! With Aircats, IR's, HF Earthquake, etc!
Ball pien hammer set (Broke one of the old wood handles from overstrike) Not bad though!
Blue and red handle screw drivers (Been great)
The new Doyle pliers (If you don't have them, Get some!)
1/2 Torque wrench. The old style. Heres where it gets interesting. I've broken 3 of these. One, the head cracked, Torquing E250 wheels. Second, it turned into a breaker bar and just, would fail to click, period. Third, seized. Like straight up seized. So AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS.
Orange ratchet straps (Would buy again)
The new Bremen vice grips (Been great)
The free multimeter is junk. Don't bother. However....
The green Centech multi-meter is actually really good for the price

I could go on. But I actually really like HF! They have came a long way from a few years back. Moral is, I have used HF in the professional world, Nothing ever lives forever in a shops hands. I've seen everything break. From HF to Craftsman, to Snap on, Matco, etc. Also, I'm going to poke the bear here a little and say HF China/Taiwan stuff is leaps ahead most of the old USA craftsman raised panel stuff. I've had more than one CM wrench/ratchet fail on me, with some blood involved.

Stopped by HF yesterday to look for an flexible extension magnet and saw this woman returning baskets full of bottle jacks, thought hmm well ok. Then I saw the truck's advertisement they came from....House leveling and foundation repair. That's up there with pallet guy, always 20-30 pallets stacked wildly in his c100 with nothing securing them at all and I doubt he's ever lost one.
