Sure some 275's have a wider contact patch than others and the sidewall might getting some stretching, the discontinued ET Street I's fit fine on my 17X8 with no bulge plus being light years ahead of a nitto 555 for grip..What width tires you can get a way with and what are safe and the widest recommended is a different story. Anything over 255 is not recommended for 8 inch wheels. Most people with stock wheels have taken care of the rear gap issue with 1" spacers (like I did) And here is a tire size calculator that might help.----------------- http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator
You're right. The 04 Cobra has 17 x 9, and yours has 17 x 8. Sorry for the confusion. You should be able to fit 17 x 9 with no problem. Then again, you lowered it, so best measure before you buy. Now, on a different subject, slightly, how do I upload the pics I took? I tried the camera and gallery icons before, but no
go.

NT05 is one of the good performance, just like Proxes Toyo tires. I like how appropriately stiff the sidewall and very quiet on street.I used the 555 on the street, NT01 open tracking, but haven't used the NT05 yet, as the car is down.
