The filter media used in the ea's are 20 microns. Impedes the flow of oil a bit especially at idle. Just use the filter ford engineers designed the engine for.
Guys I have a 08 gt500 with a Kenny bell 2.8lc blower, the guy I bought It from said to use 5w-50 full synthetic amsoil signature series I can't even find the shit anymore ....and the eaO11 amsoil filter..... what filter should I run? The motorcraft? Or a K&N? Or what? And what oil? Since amsoil is a pain in the ass to find.

Ps guys, car has 23,400 miles and I'm due for a change in 600 miles..... also, when running full synthetic on a motor like this pushing 758whp , should I be changing the oil with full
Synthetic every 5000 miles or 2500 miles?

I ment in general I'm not getting notifications when somebody does reply to something I commented on.... and why does it matter if I comment on an old thread? I'm supposed to start a new thread for a question/ thread somebody has already started here? That seems stupid and seems like there would be more clutter that way and a million threads on the same thing?

Ok well obviously I'm new here...... I don't get it, so what am I supposed to do? Start a new thread for something that already has a thread and post for it? That makes no sense to me.... what would be the reasoning for that? Can somebody tell me what I'm supposed to run oil and filter wise..... or point me in the direction where I should post a new thread.... or where I should post my question in?

Next time start a new thread and reference the old one like I did above. Old posts sometimes contain outdated stuff and advise, or someone found a new better way, etc.
I moved all the posts into this thread also.

Bump a 5 year old thread and everyone treats you like you have cooties or something. There's no shortage of 50 wt synthetic motor oils. There are 0w50, 5w50, 10w50 and 20w50 from a bunch of different manufacturers. First number is a winter rating, which living in FL should not factor into your decision as to which one to use. We're not supposed to drive on summer tires much below freezing anyway. I usually use Mobil 1 because it's not hard to find. Red Line and Castrol also make 50 wt synthetics which shouldn't be hard to find either. There's a whole bunch more. Check out on of the on-line performance distributors.

I've been running the Ford Racing oil filters. I tend to change my oil at six month intervals. I don't put a whole lot of miles on it between that interval, but if I would, I'd do it at 5,000 miles. That's just a personal preference.
