    Paying off debt

Credit cards make it a lot easier to spend money. It is not just about paying the card off every month and getting rewards/cash back. You are much more likely to buy things you don’t need and overspend when you are using a credit card.

    Paying off debt

What money market account is paying over 2.5%? By taking out a mortgage/loan you are still risking your own money. You are responsible for the loan and any loss in value of the property.

    2020 @ msrp

Thanks dickhead. Paying a little extra for a car that is built the way I want it, not having to go halfway across the country to get it and not having to wait until 2021 was worth it. Reading your comments in the used 2020s for sale thread shows that you do not like the car to begin with so why...

    2020 @ msrp

I have been calling dealers around here for the past couple of months and no one is budging or everything that was listed with a small ADM is sold. I finally paid $2500 over last week. The John Kennedy car was not showing in my online search btw.

    2020 @ msrp

I am pretty shocked by this because John Kennedy told me there was a $20k ADM several months ago and I have bought two trucks from them.

    Business closings over/under.

My wife’s company in NJ has started testing warehouse employees every two weeks and about 5% have tested positive. There have been a couple of employees hospitalized and about a dozen deaths reported with family members of employees. Covid has definitely hit this area of the country harder than...

    Business closings over/under.

A commercial real estate collapse is coming. Hotels and mall owners are starting to default. The owner of Mall of America and American Dream mall missed their last loan payment. Hilton and Marriott are close to defaulting on several properties in NYC and Chicago. Their stock price is still close...

Wow oil is at $3.62 a barrel right now. The bankruptcies have started. Q2 is going to be ugly. I can’t imagine the Fed can continue to keep this propped up for long.

Dow is Down 900+ points Today 2/24/2020

What a joke. Terrible economic data all morning including another 5.2 million unemployed and the market barely flinches. Now Dow futures are 750+ on a report of a drug treatment has promising results. I keep waiting for the next leg down and it keeps getting propped up by the Fed.

    401K contribution

The S&P500 is at the same level it was at a year ago. You really have not taken that big of a hit considering the situation. Even though it is hard to watch gains disappear you should not be discouraged about continuing to contribute as much as you can.

    Financial advisor, yay or nay

Your current investment situation seems pretty simple. I would not pay an advisor to put your money into an ETF. Other basic investment advice like Roth information is easily accessible online for free. Look up JL Collins - Simple Path to Wealth. He recommends one or two Vanguard funds for all...

NCAA Tournament to be played without fans

The NBA just suspended the season after Rudy Gobert of the Jazz tests positive for coronavirus. “On Monday, Gobert joked about the virus by making a point to touch every single microphone and recorder that was in front of him during his media session.”
