The laser is aligned to the target. The toe change is measured as the suspension is moved through droop and compression. Shims are changed in the bumpsteer end, until the optimum setting is reached

New steering means new geometry, which means complete set up on the bumpsteer. It's been obnoxiously raining lately, so I don't feel too bad that it takes about 8 hours a side to set this up ;)
