For the Roush splitter the aluminum is thin enough to be bent by hand to the desired shape. I clamped a C-clamp to my bench and used it as a jig to put a small bent in the aluminum every 8 in or so till it matched the shape of the splitter. You can use any type of rivets, they are only there to hold the aluminum strip in place so its easy to assemble. Once assembled the screws take all of the load.
