Is there a way to stop the fuel saving 1st to 4th shift, if I try and pull to the left when I go from 1st to 2nd it doesn't do it but being easy the shifter will go from 1st to 4th and it was say I'm saving fuel, I like the factory shifter but its getting aggravating, any tips?

How long of an extension will I need to get the manifold bolts from the top, also it looks like ford put the band clamp bolts on the top on the exhaust instead of making it easy and putting them on the bottom, any helpful tips? Thanks.
