I know most of you don't like to actually turn your steering wheel while on "track", with the exception of Scott, Greg, Ken, & Doug. I know a few of you have gone karting, but try taking your car on track. It is a completely different (and awesome) experience. NASA Mid Atlantic is running VIR in July, so grow a pair and come on out. I will be there with my 23 year old 150hp crap box. You guys gotta be faster than me...maybe:p

Welcome to NASA Mid Atlantic

Hey John, Kevin's coming too. Maybe we'll all get a chance to be on track together.

That would be great! Kevin & I are camping at the track. We have a lemons race coming up, so we are trying to save a little coin for that.

Which one? We have a Lemons coming up here at Summit during Hyperfest. Doug, Paul, Harry, Chris, Ken and I threw around the idea of building a car for it, but realized we didn't have anyplace to build it.

We're doing the one in September at CMP. We are entering a '65 Chevy truck (Sandford & Son theme).

Jon, you and ken need to not try to advocate how awesome it is given how prone you two are to destroying engines :poke:.

I want to go, but I know I shouldn't. I'll get hooked, and then I'll get killed by my spouse. Plus, I suck. lol.

Everybody sucks at first Mike. Bring the BMW and have a little fun.

BMW Hell! I thought SB was the most tracked Cobra color there was!

And at the entry level, Mike, its all about learning car control with an instructor. Not like being thrown into the middle of a race with experts like the go karts.
And you don't get automatically sucked in. Rodney (dragon40)controls it very well with his TR Cobra. One or two events a year, and all's well on the home front.

Nobody said 1-2 events is enough!

I'll be there!! Hopefully you don't mind hanging out with an import guy haha

Going to Hyperfest, Scott?

Never enough. But at least Thea lets you come home afterward. You could coach Mike on what it's like having a track jones and little ones at home. He's probably still not getting any sleep and not thinking straight.

Greg, I assume you're talking about June 19-20 at Summit?

My car get's tuned June 12th...assuming that everything is running properly I will definately sign up. I just hate putting the money out right now and not being able to get it back if something goes wrong with my car on the dyno.

Why, yes. Thanks for asking. I had registered for 3 Hyperdrives. We should hook up for the ride out. If you can hang with my 1 hour drive time

How about this one? You gonna make it?

Ah-ha. Now that you have another Teutonic car for daily driving instead of an unreliable Cobra, you're willing to come run the P car, eh?

Awesome! We'll see about hooking up. They're only running TT on Sunday, and Hyperdrives are on Sat. But I thought I might go up Sat to see the girls in next-to-nothing, and the roll-over contest, and the girls in next-to-nothing, and the Lemons race, and the girls in next-to-nothing, and the drifting & bike stunts, and the girls in next-to-nothing.

And if that's not enough, you could come down to this VIR with us. SOme guys you know will be there.

Crap this is during Mustang Week or I would totally go. If it makes it any better I will be autocrossing the cobra at Mustang Week. That will be my first time ACing. Any tips from the pros???

Don't expect too much too soon. AX takes much practice, of which you get almost none. It takes a long time to develop the sense of not scrubbing off any speed anywhere. But it's worth the challange. Enjoy the process.

You might see me there. I am having wheel adaptors made for the Z so I can cross-breed my 996 track wheels over to the Z. The P really isn't the car I want to track so much as the Z. Dollar for dollar, I can see walking away from the Z if I had to. Not so much the P. I'm almost there. Besides, NASA is one of the few that will most likely NOT accept the Z for open track, even though I have a hardtop too. We shall see.:pop:

Scott, I can see the concerns of tracking the P (tho lots of guys do in NASA). But I would think the Z would need rollbars. Have you checked to see if NASA allows the factory bars? I didn't know they'd allow it in a hyperdrive if it doesn't meet the CCR. And if it does, it should be good to go for HPDE.
