this is what ford should do. and everything with a few extras cost 50k these days. just look at the supercrew 250's....
WAIT A MINUTE! TIME OUT! HODE'DE DOE!!!!!!!

To please everyone, this is what Ford should do:
1 Go with the AL block for 2011, save ~100#
2 Put in a proper IRS, gain ~100#
Net net, you get a better handling car that weighs essentially the same, and has much better weight dist f/r. Sure, the cost would go up a few g's, but who the hell really cares. People are already paying $50k plus for these Mustangs...
...
BTW I'm really liking the 2010 Mustangs. Particularly the GT500. I feel Ford should add a torque arm to the car though.

I'm still holding out for a SN95 Terminator retro :-D
The Part 2 Article..... They completely missed one point about what Mustang buyers like about Supercharged Cobra's....
"Thankfully, the telltale supercharger whine has been significantly diminished with clever intake plumbing"
Are they insane?!! It should be louder (like the exhaust) not quieter!
Everyone likes to announce they have a supercharger!!

Confident in Corners
Considering it’s basically a humble, blue-collar suspension of front struts and a rear live-axle, the Shelby thunders confidently through corners without the disconcerting rear-end dance we’d expect from so much horsepower laden on such a simple chassis. The Dearborn Iron Works has learned how to make their Mustangs behave.
Not everyone
I prefer the low key classis Steve McQueen pissed-off :mj: "in your face" Mustang exhaust note as long as it's not overwhelming. The supercharges just mask that and makes it sound like there's a giant Hoover vacuum cleaner on steroids under the hood.
i feel in strict racing enviroments that the stick axle can be as effective with less weight on track as the irs.
if ford is building a 3800lb daily driver the irs and al block is the way to go. i would still prefer the sla front(like the vette) and torque arm rear al block in a 3600+lbs gt500 over the heavier irs though.
but then again i think the na 400hp mustang gt next year will be the best bet for track day.
edit in th eqoute from car and driver who usually hates mustangs...

I don't think the new car is ugly, but our cars retain more classic style, which I personally like.
ON D BIT I was just kidding LOL. I saw your post and couldn't resist. We haven't jousted this topic in over a year.
.......of course you got it all wrong but that's not the point oke:
IRS > SRA
Russ
agreed!
however once you add in the extra 200lbs of weight it would look like this....
sra > irs + 200lbs
Im still up in the air over this car or a 2007-2008 C6 ZO6, tough call.
:lol:You gotta be kidding.
Two completely different cars.
thanks for the tip, I'll write that down....:nonono:
