There is videos on youtube showing just how fake Man Vs Wild is:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UpSlpvb1is]YouTube - Re: Man Vs. Wild, Bear Grylls is a Phony[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0qyKyWaNEQ]YouTube - Man vs. Hotel: Bear Grylled[/ame]

and one for laughs : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpCkhqJs2tc&NR=1]YouTube - Man vs Wild Fraud : Bear Grylls caught on tape[/ame]

I love the fact that many times he is completely out of breath, yet the guys with full cameras somehow manage to keep up with him and show no signs of exhaustion (camera shake, heavy breating etc)

There are a couple more out there, one of him going down rapids claiming to use his backpack as a flotation device yet a life jacket is clearly visible under his shirt. Here is a full list of his "Fakes": http://www.daughtersoftiresias.org/bearwiki/Evidence

The guy still eats shit I wouldn't but that is no excuse for his poor show

I thought the guy was the shit until I saw these as well. Survivor Man is the real deal, he may not be as popular as Bear, but when you actually watch his show and see where he goes by HIMSELF you appreciate his show much more. I remember watching one where he was up in Labrador (Canada), temperatures are brutal (-30 C) and its barren, his crew radioed him telling him they were coming to get him because of the storm that was coming in would be too dangerous to continue filming. His crew took 1/2 a day to get out there on snowmobiles and then a chopper came, picked the men up, a long with all of the snowmobiles (strung them below the chopper).

Bear = Loser

I watch it and within the last two days I've watched him bite the head off a live frog and snake!!!!! I just about gagged watching him do both of those things. Guess I'd be a dead man if I was stranded.

I love when people call M v. W "fake." The show isn't a documentary. It is meant to demonstrate survival techniques in extreme situations - they even tell you that. He still ate a sheep's heart, drank his own piss, gutted and crawled inside a camel, bit the head off a snake, etc, and that's what makes the show good. I don't give a shit if Bear sleeps in a hotel.

Survivorman is awful. Les Stroud is the ultimate buzz kill. He spends most of his time whining about how he misses his family or really wishes he was eating a steak. I want to shoot myself everytime I watch that show.

Exactly. I don't give a **** if he ****s a Porn Star in a hotel every night. Bears is entertaining as hell, Stroud makes me want to fall asleep.

WHen you jump into a froze lake intentionally, barely manage to drag yourself out, and thens strip naked and do pushups on the snow covered ice in the middle of the Rocky Mountains to stave off hypothermia, its had to argue that Bear is a BAMF, he was SAS, climbed Everest, and totally ****ed himself up in a parachuting accident. Its an entertaining show.

Survivorman is more realistic, however MvW is more entertaining.

both show ways to survive in different situations in different ways. MvW shows how to get out of a situation, while Survivorman shows how to survive in the situation. Bear can do more things because he doesnt have to worry about hauling cameras around, and can also show more extreme survival techniques because he does have a crew just in case. Les cannot do that, he is alone (well, sorta. he has his GPS and satellite 2way in his pack just in case, and has used them), therefore he has to be more careful and has to take things slower.

btw i stayed in the Bass Lake Inn (where Bear stayed for the filming of the Sierra Nevada episode), its nothing special lol. Plus iirc he only did that because he was sick or something, and they either had to film that week or risk losing the show or losing their contract or something to Discovery, or some bullshit like that.

Ill take Les over Bear if i needed to choose either in a survival situation. No ****ing way could i keep up with Bear, that dude runs everywhere.

+1000

i've seen each show, and every time survivor man is on i want to shoot myself--boring as hell, horrible camera work (for obvious reasons), etc. man vs. wild is much more entertaining--i could care less what he does when the camera is off, some stuff (like what's been mentioned) is crazy enough for me to confirm his 'badass' status

survival techniques??? i couldn't care less if you like survivorman or not, but to try and legitimize MvW as more than just pure entertainment is absurd.

survivor man ftl, i cant stand that show and id put money hes not buy himself. Ever notice some of the camera shots? How clear they are? If he is using a stand alone camera (not the ones like they shoot the shows with) his footage wouldnt be so clear. He is a bunch of bs if you ask me

hes a trained cameraman, so yeah. He has two big cameras he mounts on tripods, one for close and one for wide shots, and then one handheld.

He is "alone" by a sense of there isnt anyone physically there with him. He is still connected to the outside world via GPS and a 2way, and has to check in every so often.

One of his latest episodes however, he was with a hunting buddy demonstrating survival techniques when paired up. Using the rifles to locate eachother was pretty good. This was also one of the few where the rescuers really had no idea where they were, and found them pretty easily, as they are trained to do so.

I would almost agree about Man vs. Wild, except for the fact he and the producers initially portrayed the show as something else. Had they not done that, people wouldn't still be knocking him for his fake survivor show.

I think they also said he was an ex-SAS, until he got called on that and had to change his story to FFL.

The guy is a phony and no one with a shred of outdoor experience and half a brain would do most of the stuff he does to get out of the situations he puts himself in. The whole show is a joke and it's nothing more than cheap entertainment. It should be on ABC right after ER and General Hospital.

Survivor Man FTW, by the way.:rockon:
