if you know how to cook a steak, and choose a decent cut, i.e. filet, ny strip, rib eye, or even top sirloin, then you don't need that garbage. A little kosher salt, a few turns of the pepper mill, and a rosemary stem on top while grilling is all you need.

If you don't want to grill, and have a nice stainless steel pan, brown the steak on both sides, and bake in the oven for 8-12 minutes depending on how done you want it. While you are baking it, throw some mushrooms and a few garlic cloves in the pan. They will roast in the meats juices, yum!

Jesus people.....A-1 has nothing to do with hiding the tast of a bad steak. It compliments the taste of a good steak!

So all you guys who say it ruins a steak....do you eat your seafood plain (no butter, tartar sauce, tabassco etc.)?? I don't eat much seafood because it has no taste...the taste is the butter you dip it in or any other dipping sauce etc.

Omelette + A1 = WIN

Decent steak + A1 = WIN

Ruth's Chris steak = EPIC FAIL

Fixed that for you.

Ruth's Chris is overrated. There is much better steak to be found elsewhere. The best steak is usually not at a chain, no matter how "high end" it seems.

(at least regarding the Ruth's Chris in Boston, I've never been to a RC anywhere else.)

It never did anything for me. If the steak is mediocre, I like to dip it in cider vinegar, but if it's a top-notch steak, it shouldn't need anything.

I put A1 on everything!

With a high quality steak I use very little, but it still adds some flavor that I enjoy.

I love the natural juices of a steak...filet medium rare FTW:rockon:

A-1 just has to strong of a taste for my liking and covers up the other natural flavors.

My bad for the Hienz boyz...forgot about that sauce:shrug:

lot of people bringing up eggs and burgers...I just might have to give that a try one day.
