Are new truck prices really that bad?

The issue I have is how there are things you might not want but are forced to get in the vehicle or things you do want but aren't available until higher packages.

Buying a 25" tv fifty-five years ago you'd be paying even more than $700 IMO.

Yup.

My Dad sold/serviced tv's, stereos, cassettes, cassette players, 8 tracks, VHS/Beta players, 8 track players, police radios, scanners, microwaves, LPs, 45s, guitars, etc.
If you wanted a sweet console TV with LP, AM/FM stereophonic sound, you're talking +$900 - lol.

Remember when quadraphonic sound was going to sweep the industry?
I still have a quad Steely Dan Countdown to Ecstacy LP somewhere.

IMO truck prices were always crazy but you could count on GM, Ford and Ram to give factory incentives to make the purchase a little less painful. Outside of the Raptor, seemed like if you could wait till the next year was coming out could save 10-20% on a new purchase.

You were a baller if you had the furniture piece with not only the television but also the record player. Gram had one and do I remember Ray Conniff, Nate King Cole, Bing Crosby, etc...., being played on it. The control panel came out at a vertical angle. Man, that ran our Atari, NES, etc....,

I'm dipping my toes in the market for a new/used truck. Things are definitely interesting out there.
Is the Ram 1500 catching your eye? Seen it at the top of a reliability list recently.

I will say this with confidence; I would go directly to @13COBRA if I needed a new truck.

Not saying that to jump on someone's knob.....just saying before I paid some of these ridiculous asking prices, I would shop around to his place.
Word. Already reached out about replacing my 2020 F150 with a 2025 F150 through him.

I just replaced my 2019 ram 1500 with a 22 f250 platinum. Reason for the f250 is I wanted the 7.3 gas motor. If Ram had a big gasser or if I was going diesel, I would have bought another ram. The interior was much nicer. It road so smooth, which might not translate to the 2500. It had a noise canceling system, which made it super quiet on the inside. The rams electronics package made sense. The fords doesn't. They make you used the touch screen for a lot of things that shouldn't need it, and the B&O sound system is pretty bad sound quality.

Sell it brother!

I am also looking. Waiting for this settlement with the Gecko. Young kid ran a stop sign and hit me right on the driver side front wheel and door area.

But has wages followed the same trend? Doesn't seem like it.

For some people it has.

My 2022 Ram Rebel was around $61k, and finance rate was 2.9%. It's been a fantastic truck, both in build quality and performance.

No attorney and we are negotiating. Just a torn rotator cuff and 2 new herniated disc in neck.

I had my left arm on the door tapping out some music and kiddo just blew tru the stop sign as I was turning left. Did not hurt till I seen the insurance offers, lol.

Friend of mine has a coworker that owns a Dodge dually with the 6.4. Apparently the engine is the only part the truck he regrets.

I live at 7000' elevation. The 6.4 ram is heavier and under powered at sea level.

Out here there are a few '23 F150's in XL and 2.7T in the 47ish range. Looking at the window sticker that price doesn't seem too bad.
