I was thinking of installing these Attic Dek flooring

I just need more storage space for all my junk lol.

Anyone else use these?

I watched the video, neat idea.

I'd be concerned about putting them above sheetrocked rooms. Might be asking for trouble disturbing the rafter cords where the rock is fastened, and creating cracks in the joints/fasteners.

I have my garage decked part way with 1/2" plywood just for Xmas light storage. I didn't do that much, as it's a PITA getting over and through all the roof trusses. This is right by the access to the attic.

Plastic becomes brittle in time. Curious how long you would have with the heat/cold cycles before it does. I used wood...so far so good.

Cool. Not sure how cost would compare to plywood.

So in your case the negatives:
- storing an item with legs.
- if you're up there and you drop something small.

Positives:
- more storage space.
- easy installation.
- could be removed easily and reused, but so can plywood.

Never seen those before. They look neat, but not really sure what the benefit over OSB is. Seem pretty expensive as well.
What sort of access do you have to the attic? Pulldown stairs or scuttle hole?

dont have to cut anything, easier to move around in such small pieces.

My attic has the pulldown stairs but the ****ing morons cut the hole without looking first I guess... if the stairs went to the middle of the garage (peak of the ceiling) you walk into the AC ducting. So they faced it the other way - to the low side of the peak almost at the wall. There's no room to do anything

That's how my old house was. Walking up toward the low side of the roof but mine had about 4' of clearance- Just enough to duck walk and always end up leaving DNA on those shingle nails poking through. LOL

I used these in my attic and on an roof eave in the attic. I really like them (other than the price they get expensive fast as you need a lot of them). I bought them for walking on, but have since used them to store some boxes as well.

I wish I had a picture in my phone of them after I was done. Here is one I sent my brother when I was putting them in to show him as he was interested in these too .

One thing I will recommend is lay them out before putting the screws in as they only clip together certian ways. Plus a lot of your joists will be double boarded and it makes it an odd size for a rafter in the attic.

Great stuff. I can see how the Attic Dek has some installation advantages over plywood, but it's more expensive.

I have a square shaped access drywall ceiling panel that I just have to lift up and move it out of the way in the attic. It’s like 8.5 feet high in my utility room.

I admit, I don’t know much about carpentry and wood. What size ply wood would I need? Thickness? My access ceiling panel is like around 32x32 inches. If I decided to use wood instead of these plastic panels. Amazon has the best prices I think.

Could be 36 inches. I’m not feeling well this min. Don’t feel like getting on my step ladder to measure

Thanks man for posting.

The panels are like 16x24. On Amazon a 4 pack of that size $94 currently. Not sure, but the panels might come in another size too.
I still need to get back up in my attic to measure the center of the joist to the next joist too.

Edit: Just found another vendor on Amazon with good ratings that charges $80.

Also wanted to mention, There’s a boatload of insulation in my attic. Obviously there should be.

Should I move some of the insulation out of the way where I plan on installing these panels or wood? Like already mentioned, I can’t compress the insulation down.

Edit: If my questions sound dumb, my bad. I’m just really sick with the flu.
