Waited til later in life to finally settle down after finding the right one to marry and have a child with. Our careers are booming and we've never had so much money/investments as we do now. Sure kids are expensive, doesn't mean you have to be broke.

Honestly we sit around the house on a Friday or Saturday night watching a movie or out by a bon fire and talk about how much it would suck to be single out running around these days. That shit got old after 30...

Low 30s with first son on the way. Always wanted to be a dad so I'm excited and terrified

This thread reminded me of a saying my dad taught me, "the grass is always greener on the other side because it's fertilized with bull shit."

"Nothing makes me question ALL of my life decisions like SVTP."

Posts and likes are not mine.

No one is 'ready' to have a kid. haha Even if you think you are, you're not.

Once you have them, human nature takes over (for most people).

I went from zero kids to four in the matter of 3 years. Wouldn't change it for the world!

The one question I constantly ask myself though, what did I ever do with all of my free time prior to having kids?
No offense but its alot different having 4 kids when you are financially able too vs not being financially in the correct situation.

I see way to often people having children who cant even pay for themselves.

the latter, 100% of the time.

I'm just saying, usually the women run the show at the end of the day / week, and VERY FEW 'understand' horsepower / the game lolol
100% , women in marriage control how much sex you will get too. When she aint feeling it you aint getting it. Is what it is.

I'm 37, no kids. Never had any desire to have kids, and don't see that changing. I like having freedom to do what I want, when I want, with no strings attached. I'd rather have regret of not having kids, than have regret of having kids. That said, I love my nieces and nephews, but it's nice being able to give them back to my siblings when I'm done being their cool uncle. My (2) 4-legged kids are enough dependencies for me.

I don't disagree with that. I don't think anyone should live higher than their means, or live higher than they want to work.

I know plenty of guys that are completely satisfied making $50,000 a year and live within that structure. They couldn't be happier. That's not the life I want.

I went through my 20's hating the thought of having kids. Didn't want them, no desire to be around them. I bought cars, went on vacations with G/F's, and lived a pretty fun lifestyle. Told everyone i would jump off a bridge before I ever had kids.

In my 30's, i did change. Got tired of wasting money, made some changes and settled down. Got myself in a pretty good place financially. Had a few kids with my amazing wife and don't regret it one bit.

If you told me in my 20's I'd be loading the kids into a SUV for a family vacation and actually looking forward to it, I would have thought you were crazy.

I did get a vasectomy recently. There are limits to what i can handle

“ we have 4 kids and we can do whatever whenever “

Yes… with a high 6 figure income.

Us po folk .. noooope

People can prioritize however they see fit for their family. :)

I'd venture to guess that there are A LOT of people on this forum that have more non-essential items or products than I do, that make less than I make.

EDIT: Not even sure why I felt the need to respond. To each their own!

I like your posts and appreciate the knowledge you bring here but most of us, especially the under 40 crowd with young kids, can't even come close to matching your level of "fun" purchases.

It's not a knock on you, everybody gets dealt a hand in life they can't control and some hands are lot better than others. What they can control is how they play that hand and there are a lot of good card players on this forum.

I appreciate that and hope I'm not coming across in anyway other than understanding.

Can't speak for others but no problem on my end.

One thing in common though is that all of us dad's here with young ones (especially sons) are likely putting in good work to ensure there will be another generation of car enthusiasts who appreciate V8 vehicles.

Ehh.. I’d venture to say you have 200k or more in vehicles…

I wouldnt say “ a lot “ of people have over 200k worth of vehicles on this forum. Sure there’s a few but not a lot.

I mean regardless of if it’s the Dealership that owns it or you do.. you have access to it. Not everybody can just be like “ oh hey I can go get that f450 king ranch for the next year”

But I agree with Josh you’ve never come off as a dick about it
