I drive trucks for a living and I swear I think people see trucks and automatically think they just need to get in front of them no matter what.

Great way to help control population.Around here, motorcycles are notorious for cutting in front of cars while weaving in and out of lane. Some people just like rolling the dice.
Not related to this accident but look at the accident an out of control truck caused in 2019!
Trucker Rogel Aguilera-Mederos Found Guilty of Four Vehicular Homicide Counts
The crash killed four and injured ten.www.westword.com
Once the proceedings finally got under way, prosecutors portrayed Aguilera-Mederos as reckless, while the defense team cast him as the victim of numerous mechanical problems with his truck. When those culminated in brake failure, Aguilera-Mederos testified, he considered several options, including driving onto the grassy median that separates eastbound and westbound I-70. But he feared that he'd wind up in the path of incoming traffic on the other side of the highway, he said, and he thought smashing directly into the bridge "would cause an explosion." He also claimed to have missed seeing a couple of signs for a runaway truck ramp. So he tried to slow down by swerving, but that didn't prevent a deadly tragedy.
He was found guilty. However it sounds like the truck had mechanical issues. He says he considered crashing it into the bridge but was worried it would explode. Sucks for everyone involved. We take things for granted when driving on roads. Anything can happen. Gotta keep your eyes open all the time!Wow, that was one horrendous set of crashes. Anyone know the final outcome of that trial?

Rogel Aguilera-Mederos wept as he testified in his own defense Thursday, recounting to a Jefferson County jury how he lost control of the semitrailer he was driving on Interstate 70 in April 2019 a…www.denverpost.com
The fatal trip was his first time driving a truck through mountains, he testified, though he had ridden with his brother, a truck driver, through similar terrain in the past.
and
He testified that he believed his brakes were in working order after he stopped at Berthoud Pass and called his boss and another trucker for advice.
“If the brakes were working fine, why did you call two different people to help you?” Wildeman asked.
“Because they were two people who had much more experience than me,” Aguilera-Mederos said. “That’s not wrong.”
Some of Aguilera-Mederos’ testimony contradicted testimony from other witnesses. Wildeman kept a list of the contradictions on a large piece of paper pinned to an easel beside her throughout his hours-long testimony.
“There were several people who took the stand and told you they saw your brakes smoking, right?” she asked him.
“What I am trying to tell you is that I never saw that and I never saw the brakes smoking,” he said. “I was paying attention to many things. I never saw them smoking.”
