This October will be my wife and I 10 year wedding anniversary. She’s has been asking/mentioning wanting a amethyst cathedral here and there for the past year.

Does anyone here know where to buy one of these things online at a fair price? Or what is the best way of going about purchasing one. Looking to spend ~1000-1500$.

From what I’ve read online, best bet is to go to a local rock/gem show.

Sedona AZ is the Mecca for overpriced rocks
I’m in CA. Sounds like I can dodge that bullet. Hah.

Trust me, I don’t really want to purchase a amethyst. But gotta keep the wife happy and act like I’m listening when she hints things. Lol

I've only got one rock in my collection. Of course, it's about 8,000 miles in diameter and spins about 1,000mph and orbits this dopey twice as large as average yet unusually stable star, at 68,000mph. And it's tilted. To the right kind of collector, that increases the value.

My brother was an avid rock collector. One of his favorites was I wish he was still alive because he for sure would have some info for you. He didn't have any amethyst cathedrals, but he had a really nice amethyst geodes.

You might have seen this website, but it's worth a look just to see what's available and the varying prices.

Pawn shops and antique emporium. I've scored some nice jewelry. No such thing as a used rock. Settings can be changed.

I’ve been browsing that site. Seems to have the most selection of all that I’ve seen.

There is Rock and Gem show in Quartzite, AZ every year around Jan- Feb. I am still amazed 7 years later after seeing that show and the prices.
