New carry. Sti Stacatto C2. Shot it today for the first time and it was flawless. Very happy and confident in it.

Finished up my build. Adam's Precision upper with piston drive, 14 inch barrel, 80% lower milled by myself, Timmney drop in trigger, KNS roll pins, ambi mag release and a few other goodies here and there.

I went for reliability and and functionality. I know some peeps are all about having the flashy looking guns and 1k optics, but I prefer simplicity in my rifle. I got the upper second hand from a friend of mine and so I saved a ton of money on it. The muzzle break isnt pinned so I can throw a different one or a silencer on it should I choose to.

First time posting in this thread. Long story short, I acquired a gun safe from my father in law. Opened it up today and found this. I don't pretend to know much about firearms but so im asking here. Give me your thoughts. It clearly needs a good cleaning (been sitting for over 10 years). Don't know much about it. Norinco 7.62mmx39. What should I know about this? Is it worth a shit? It needs clips and ammo. ThanksView attachment 1644412 View attachment 1644413 View attachment 1644414 View attachment 1644415

That's a pre 1989 Chi-com. Great guns and they go for a shit ton of money. George Bush Sr banned their importation.

Looks like a Chinese AK-47 to me. Anyone else recognize it?

go on Gunbroker and look at an 56s, Norinco makes fantastic AKs
you have a stamped receiver version,
Milled go for a bit more

if you clean it up and depending on barrel condition and alignment, thats a $1500-2500 AK

Thanks for the input fellas. Yeah I did some digging and got some info on it. Not sure I'm going to hold onto it, probably go up on gun broker. Im just not a fan of the underfolder. Grip, muzzle and sight are not original so im sure that will take away from its value.
Thanks again

Nice AR. With all the riot crap going on around the country, I've been thinking of buying one. My first. I have to do some research and then decide. I really don't want to buy a large gun safe, but maybe it's a small price to pay for heightened peace of mind.
Research quick, theres not a whole hell of alot left on the shelves. Even parts for guys who like to build their own are scarce.

DUDE, DONT SELL THAT BEFORE YOU GET IT APPRAISED. IN FACT DO NOT SELL IT.

Norinco AKs were banned from importation in the 80's. Add to that its an underfolder that looks to be original... you could have a valuable gun there!!

Check out AK files to get some help with it.

Got this from one of the bigger retailers (local with a few locations) and most of their display racks were empty. They had 2 of these with the mag pull hand guard and 2-3 standard ones and that’s it. They were sold out of pistol grips and the only optics were too pricey for this one.

I’ve got a nice scope and such my sig virtus

That's like saying you are going to eat a single Pringle. You never own just one AR. You collect them like baseball cards. You buy them in multiple calibers. My first was an S&W MP-15 back in 2011. Now I have 17 variations of ARs. Just pick up an M&P or a Saint, then begin your addiction.

@RES0574, yeah, I know it usually is addictive once you buy your first AR. LOL. Actually, I only want it for home defense, which is why I am thinking about buying just one. I'd be fine with that. Just need to find THE one. I have go to my shooting range next week so I'll check a few out while I'm there. I do have a gift certificate from my daughter that I have to spend. ;)

Bob check the one I have out, I added the red dot and some magpul furniture but for the price of the Smith and Wesson M&P Sport 2 it’s a great budget AR.
