I run a 2.6 upper with carbonite coating, along with a thump tensioner and a whipple sliding pulley. Works well, but a lot of belt dust.
I recently bought a 4lb lower which I might try at some point.View attachment 1632691

So curious, for you and the other guys who have carbinite coated their upper....are you still cranking down on your tensioner? Not sure if the Thump tensioner is manual adjust or just spring assist like factory, but I have an old skool Reichart Racing manual adjust with spring assist, and I tried the carbinite in an attempt to not have to crank the living shit out of the tensioner to eliminate belt slip. So when I installed it, I backed off the manual tension a fair amount. In all honesty, once I noticed how devestating the carbinite coating was to belts, I immediately removed it. In retrospect, it may have just needed more tension. This might be worth revisiting. if any of you guys are using manual tensioners with carbinite, are you still cranking down on the adjuster bolt adding a ton of tension???
