I thought this was SVTP where everyone pays cash and only fools finance a depreciating asset for more then 48 months?

GM needs to be careful. ZERO Payments for a year is what killed Mitsubishi. They tried to sucker in a bunch of college and recent graduates with great financing, but then all these kids did was end up incredibly upside down and Mitsubishi got caught holding the debt.

I'd rather see GM give you 2-3 skip payments during the life of the loan for unforeseeable issues instead of 4 months up front.

Difference with GM is that you have to have top tier credit. I actually think its a great thing. Not having a payment for 4 months or more during this time helps alot.

I have to respectfully disagree with the buy new and no payments for 4 months and 84 month loans. In my opinion this is gonna set a lot of people up to fail who buy knowing they dont have to pay for the time being and instead of saving the money they blow it. Now say 5 months from now they get into a jam, GM is going to say “ we gave you a 4 month extension already” and they are going to be in a pickle

Those people tend not to have a 800 plus credit score. So there more than likely not getting that loan without a co signer. Now if you only need a 700 score to qualify then i would say yes there will be lots of people that will end up in a jam. As for me i would love to jump on a 4-6 months no payment and 0% for 84. I could bank 4-6 months of payments and be ready for when i do need to start making payments.

Yeah, but if they lost their jobs in the lay-off that’s going on nationwide then they could wind up jammed up. Now granted that’s just my opinion. I dont have a 800+ score, but if it was me. I would hold whatever payments were being skipped and stack extra on all of the payments

For anyone that is still interested the best deals on NEW i found were at Antioch, IL Ram dealer and North Olmstead, OH. Antioch was offering $10k off MSRP plus the 0% for 84 months and North Olmstead was matching rebate pricing with 0% on certain models.
I ended up buying a 2019 Ram 1500 limited. It is a CPO and had every option I couldnt afford in a brand new vehicle. It has 25k miles and I got it for $41k OTD.

That dealers who finance all their showroom cars would want to sell?
Or that manufacturers won’t let dealer inventories just sit.
We have seen this in 09 and 01. Deals will get better.

Is it?
