what was the DA when this car was running? No way DR only will bring it down to 9s. With a tune and drag setup easy 9s imo
Looks like it was 25 to 100 DA

Nice. This stock gt500 with handling package gurney flap and dive planes went 10.7@131 with 28psi on stock 20” tires then he cheated and dropped air to 24psi and ran [email protected]
This was speed phenoms first time to a drag strip. Some of his reaction times were 5 seconds.
On a 17” weld and drag radial with seat time, it probably had a 9 in it. He ran 1.72 60ft on the 24psi pass. Very nicely prepped track. He was running 3200rpm 2step.
Believe he was in 0 or negative DA on that tun too.
I thought I read 300 or so. Still pretty low.
One thing to consider is that the stock tires are pretty good on these. So not like on the REs where DRs cut 1 sec because the stock tires are trash.
3200rpm and it winds down to 2000rpm... it’s 625tq and a 55mph 1st gear. It isn’t going to bog with nannies off on a 3200rpm launch even if it had square wheels.
That’s when people should realize traction control or whatever is at work.
Drag radials should get 1.4’s. That should take a 10.6 to a 10.0
The speed phenom runs were at 300ft+ da. Let’s see how it does at -2600ft like the demon had when it ran 9.65@140.
Evidently dodge and most of their followers do.Settle down lil buddy.
The bench with which we measure is not off of hero runs.

What’s funny is that Ford introduces it to media in Las Vegas know for a slow track. Running 10.9-11.3 at 128+ everyone said see it’s not fast in today’s world. Then it ran 10.6 at 132 with a great driver in better conditions everyone said it’s just E Smith it’s not that fast. First one out with good conditions runs 10.66. 132 and everyone says it won’t get any better or most will be closer 2 11.
No matter what it runs no ones is happy and dodge is better/faster! Bottom line.
Considering RedEyes with wheels and DR are running 10.7 their first time out and then 10.2 with more practice...Nah...Care to show that person that said the new car isn’t fast... ?
I’ll admit I thought it would be faster in the amazing conditions posted above, but 130s trap speed on factory tires is impressive no 2 ways about it.
I’m just not going to stand on top of a mountain and declare the car will runs 9s in -2500 DA. Lmao. I doubt it would, but who GAF even if it did being that is not the real world.

Redeye has shit tires that need better drivers/conditions. The GT500 had an insane amount of engineering go into its tire. And that includes the 4S. Just like the cftp wont improve on the RC with different tiresConsidering RedEyes with wheels and DR are running 10.7 their first time out and then 10.2 with more practice...
I’m saying people in drag wheels and drag radials first time out are hitting 10.7. They get better as they run more on the same after market dr.Redeye has shit tires that need better drivers/conditions. The GT500 had an insane amount of engineering go into its tire. ET Street RE running slower than a stock GT500.I picked up a new Redeye Monday.
Standard body.....every option except the HK radio and sunroof (3.09 rear end). Paid $66.5k (not a stripper version)
Took it to SGMP today. Ran 3 clean passes (totally screwed up the line lock on one and it messed up my whole pass).
Weather was perfect (high 60’s/low 70’s with a headwind).
A little over 600 miles on it with a set of MT ET streets.....10.7@133 on 1.8 60’s. I was idling off the line just getting a feel for it. There was plenty more in the launch and I’ll keep pushing until I find the limit.
My back 1/8’s were all 3.8 seconds and picking up right at 30mph.
It’ll gain a little bit with a few more miles I’m sure. I’m not a great driver but with a little more practice And figuring out how far I can push it and not spin I’ll easily cut much better 60’s and be well under 10.5’s.

Purvis is saying that’s faster than he ran first time out with his RE on sticky tires ie DR or ET streets.i can help you get that time down a bit. Thats a great first run though! Better than i did. Congrats!

Above
And yet people think the GT500 won’t get any faster after Purvis took off .5 with practice alone.
And Im over here like "Please, pretty please let me hit 2nd gear without grinding.... please please please". lmao
