?????
Dodge needs race gas & a tune to get that " 840 " hp !!
..............& drag radials to make that hero run.
.
4200# race weight means with driver to me. So approximately 4000# without driver?
And the should have tried some E85 …

Monster Mustang Shelby GT500 revealed at Detroit auto showDetroit News said:But wait, there's more. To take on the Camaro's ZL1 1LE cyborg, GT500 buyers can opt for the Track Package which includes a huge, raised rear wing, front splitter, dive planes, 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels and gummy Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires. With rear seat deleted, the car sheds 80 pounds.
So the totals were:
- seat bottom 11.2 lbs
- seat backs 19.4 lbs (total)
- hardware/belts/brackets 8.4 lbs
That's 39 lbs of weight removed, prior to the delete install. The weight you add back in was as follows:
- delete panel 6.6 lbs
- hardware .4 lbs
So you added 7 lbs back in, bringing the weight savings number for this mod to a grand total of 32 lbs of weight reduction. If you paid $800 for the kit (a price everyone here should be able to beat) then you paid $25 per pound of weight loss.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: All the Engineering DetailsR&T said:You also get carbon-fiber wheels with that package. They’re sourced from the same Australian company that makes the wheels for the GT350R, Carbon Revolution, only they now have an exposed weave and a glossy finish to show it off. And despite increasing in size, the GT500’s carbon-fiber 20s weigh just about the same as the GT350R’s 19s—around 18 pounds. These wheels help save around 60 pounds in unsprung weight, which will pay dividends in ride, handling and braking.
I remember seeing an OLD (circa 2016/2017) video of two mustangs at a drag strip (Florida perhaps) that was supposedly captured by a passer-by. The cars in question were rumored to be the new GT500 in dev and test. I believe at the time one of the cars captured was running right around this time: 10.8@high 120’s+.
It’s my opinion that the once the new GT500 is fully ready for showtime, it will trap better than 120’s and most likely click off 10.8 or better in stock form without race gas or drag radials.
Anyone familiar with the video / content I am referring to?
I’ve had passes in the 12’s at 109 when my nitrous controller shit itself. That was in a 125mph bolt on 150shot car.
My point is bad runs happen.

Funny.... lol
When Demon runs 9.8-9.9s stock, people crucify Dodge. When new Shelby runs less than advertised... “bad runs happen”.... LoL!
#ALLCARSMATTER!
A) ford hasnt advertised shit
B) that source of 10.8 @ 127 has no proof
C) lets wait till the car is actually produced to call something a bad run...
Not by ford. And who knows what state these pre production cars were inLoL at ford not advertising “shit”....
exact figures arent out, but the car was stated as 10.8 in the 130s with average conditions and average driver.
