What I was going to post before I stepped out. While the "C" section on the fender is no doubt GT350 (in the first sketch) these are obviously what Ford has planned for the GT500.

All of this, especially the active brake cooling, too cool! DBK, don't know how you've held back knowing about all this. This car is really shaping up.

Active Aerodynamic Underbody Shield System and Method of Lift Balance Adjustment

This is another GT bit. "Coal chutes," as they are referred to on GT, remain open when the rear wing is down to blow up the front downforce and keep the car from oversteering wildly, then when the rear wing is up they close to energize the front underwing and balance downforce at both ends so it isn't an aerodynamic pusher. Not exactly the same purpose because of chassis differences, but same principle.

Ford has already been using the PTWA (plasma transferred wire arc) process on certain aluminum engine blocks. But how about pistons and cylinder heads now...

Vehicle Wheel Anti-Theft System (perfect for CF wheels I'd venture to guess)

Just a possibility but how about lightened suspension links such as that of the rear camber units currently used on the S550 chassis?
Current rear link...

Ford just patented using composite reinforcement to lighten the weight of a steel alloy arm.

This is interesting to me... Maybe I am missing the big picture, but I cant think of a reason why you would not want the hood venting at all times?

Ford, like all the OEM's, wants as much control as possible. That means managing airflow both above and below the hood. In reading the application I get the sense from Ford's careful wording that the vehicle operator will have the ability to remove the tray say, for a track day, etc. They like to use the word "degradation" a lot and that makes sense given the proximity of the vents and the area near or above the engine. Whether these issues would be spark, corrosion over time, "shock" from cool water being poured on certain areas of the engine over time, the reduced ability to control specific thermal windows that may form the basis of PCM logic, it makes sense that it wouldn't be as simple as assuming there is always a benefit to having the vents being unobstructed.

After 50+ pages of patents Ford has received or applied for I've had enough for the day.:) THE most intriguing may be this one that I admit, caught me off guard...

Get the **** out of here with this shit. This is the last thing I want the government mandating at some point. So subtle you won't even know it's there.

I’d rather it was a device that protrudes from the seat after you’ve been strapped in if they’re going all in on that idea. As a bonus, more accurate temperature readings while gathering driver/occupant data.
