To hell with production, I just want to watch the fireworks for the first one who drops this in a foxbody. They already get mad about LS swaps, this is LS x10 lol.

You're not praising it enough, you must be a Ford Fanboy, lol.

I know a few ZR1's over 1k (LS9), and a couple turbo Z06 cars pushing 1k. It's possible, but comes down to how much money and time you want to spend.

I’d love to see this set up in a clean notch back Fox. People would get super butt hurt about it lol.

That would be something to see. Fox bodies don’t really do anything for me but I guess it would piss off the purists if it had a Hemi in it.

Pick your poison.

Love me a notch. I've seen a few whine in person over an LS3 swap, this might cause actual tears, lol.

I owned a fox in the past, honestly don't care what people drop in them. Some people though get pissed when you cross swap power plants. Dropping this in a fox with traction would be a beast on the track and could drive it there. Might even run something crazy, like a 9.65...lol.

emissions mostly. As it's strictly a over the counter off road race engine, but you put it in a 1975 or earlier it don't fall under the EPA and local/state jurisdiction on emissions allowances.

All of a sudden I have the urge to buy a '70 Challenger. (I must confess,...not all of a sudden. One of my favorite muscle cars.)
Stuff the HELLEPHANT in it,....update the interior/drive train and HOLD ON!!!!!! lol

But doesn't the same apply once a person modifies their factory exhaust on their +1975 vehicles?

There are a lot of modified performance cars running the streets with headers, off road pipes, etc.

I guess I don't see the difference unless you live in a state where you have to pass emissions every year.

Still FCA
"Hellephant" is fitting for a 4500lb land barge

Also, didn't Ford have the '08 Cobra Jet running 8's? Oh yeah that's right, I stood next to it with Carroll Shelby at New England Dragway right before they ran 8.9.

Correct. The tuning, catalytic converters design/install and 5 gas emissions typical of certifying a car for Federal emissions likely wasn't performed. They probably could have put this on the path to 49 state certification, but it would probably only put out 800 or so hp.

Not a Mopar guy by any means, but I have to give my hats off to them. They figured out their balls worked and have been on a warpath.

Even with the 2018+ Mustang GT able to run 11's and high 10's with the A10 and E85.... Ford is losing the marketing war. They better hope they have a solid GT500 crate engine ready for sale... and they better hop the GT500 isn't a flop after this whole delay.

Kudos Mopar

I cannot believe they are actually going through with the name 'hellephant.' I'll give them credit for having a sense of humor.

The mopar diehards seems to have deep pockets. As for the size, this engine is going to be a lot wider than an ls motor. The valve covers on my ls were about 3-4" wide. The valve cover on the 392 'hemi' I had was at least 6" wide. I have no clue on deck height, but part of the allure of the LS is how little room it takes up in an engine bay.
