That's what I have on my S5.
It's a little bulky, but not too bad. I'd probably buy another Commuter Case series "when" I get a new phone. I would love to go case-less to be honest, but afraid to drop and ruin the phone. Never dropped this one and the last one only a handful of times.

It only took one drop on a concrete floor for me to destroy my S6. That shit was mangled. The phone fell about 5ft, right on a corner and shattered the phones casing, thus destroying the glass as well.
"Shatter proof" glass my ass.
Phone still worked, though I was getting microscopic pieces of glass in my thumbs.
I think the catch with the words "shatter proof" is that the glass doesn't explode, it instead just spiders and stays together like a car windshield.

Probably best to just lease a case, lol.
Or do what I do. I went on Amazon and read all the reviews/questions when deciding to get a case for my new phone that isn’t even in my hands yet. I admit, being that phone is so new, I may need to pick another if I don’t like the one I got.

So what's the difference between the commuter case & the defender? Too many damn cases!!!

Defender is much bigger and more bulky. Think it has an integrated screen protector too.

Keep in mind, you can find the cases much cheaper on eBay. Even if it's used, you can return it for a new one from Otter Box.

Now you're just being too reasonable.

Just ordered an S8+ with Best Buy's Black Friday deal. That + my $250 Verizon gift card = phone cost me under $300 out of pocket FTW.

This will be the 1st phone I put a case on. Looking for something that will protect it from damage if dropped, but not be super bulky as I like to keep my phone in my pants pockets. Not interested in getting a holster or belt clip for it.

I know Otter Box makes some, but they all look the same for the most part
you don't need that expensive shit: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-i-Bl...pID=51HRq1TzxNL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Defender here on my 6. I've dropped it more times than I care to count out of my truck and on the track.

No problems. I don't use the belt clip. Pocket carry for me.

One of the cheaper cases on Amazon, full phone coverage with screen protector, comes with belt clip if you like that sort of thing, and not very bulky.

I have used them on my last couple phones with no issues. I have dropped my current phone(iPhone 7+) several times from 2-4 feet and there isn’t a scratch on it.

Concrete is a whole different story. I'd like to see some cases tested with a concrete floor.

I've dropped it on concrete and it looks fine. I am very careful with my phone though so I have probably only dropped it that one time.

Except op can’t stand Spigen.
I’ve always had good results with them.
I wanted a thinner case this time though.

Spigen can kiss my ass. Bought their vent phone mount for my MS6 & it put a gouge in the vent. Came recommended by other 6 owners. SPigen told me GFY. So now 1 of my winter projects is swap the center HVAC vents
