I have 305 et streets on my turbo cobra, made 784hp with 3.15 gears i hook in 1st.

Turbo vs Blower car. HUGE difference. My buddy has a twin turbo on his 03 and we plotted our torque curves from the same dyno in 500 RPM increments just for giggles. Night and day. Blower has instant tire shredding torque down low and comes on so hard and immediate.

In fact just compare throttle response to boost. Look at this data log from my car. Notice as fast as I can hit the throttle boost is just as fast. By the time I can get the peddle to the floor I'm already at max boost.

On the turbo car its a different story and works very well in favor of traction.

This. Not to mention a 3.15 gear is helping as well.

All depends on the curve!

Just adjustable shocks with the stock springs? That works for you? If shocks alone make a big difference I may need to swap in stock un-cut springs in my rear to get enough clearance to squat with these big tires. I measured them around 28.5" tall. That was part of my idea of going to coil overs in the rear so I could raise it up just as much as needed but then my shock options are probably pretty limited.

Ya I'm on stock springs still stock height and cutting 1.5 60 foots at the track too. It squats really well and hooks great too.

well I can tell u for sure my 76/87 spools up instantly! in fact, I wish it spooled up a little slower! mite even opt for the 80mm with my CD 3C

My car definitely does not have instant power with my pt 7675, lag city!

yea but what ur leaving out is the Turbo car with make almost 150 ft /lbs of TQ MORE then ur blower car on average so spinning the tire down low isn't making ur car any faster and it flattens out real quick where the Turbo car keeps climbing into the power band with more RPM.

and not all TT or single Turbo kits are created equally. LOTTA variables but almost all blower kits do the same thing at a given boost level and even with all the cooling mode ur subject to heat soak. no heat soak on a Turbo car.....

I wasn't leaving anything out. I wasn't saying a blower car is faster or better. They both have their places.

We were discussing traction in this thread and how to hook and I was just pointing out the power delivery comes on very differently between the two setups. So when you point out a 305 X brand tire dead hooks on your turbo car it doesn't necessarily apply to the majority in here which are blower cars. That's all.

My car has around 700 hp. I run 305/35/18 MT ET streets. I can't hook for crap. I believe this has everything to do with stock shocks and H and R springs though. I'm interested in hearing more suspension setups from people who can hook on drag radials.

I have coilovers in the front but in rear i have stock shocks with h&r springs as well with 305/30/19 mt et streets, at 784 on low boost 17lbs 3.15 gears. In first from a 5 roll i can go full throttle to redline and i hook everytime with the rare tiny spin in the upper rpms but have yet to light up the tires without trying.

You have no weight transfer and a low profile drag radial.

I run stock cut mach 1 springs. SRA. 3.27s. stock mach 1 swap bar. 15x10s 275 MT pro. car made a little over 900whp at 18lbs. stock t56. Brake boost from a roll. Hooks like a mofo. Thats a pretty simple recipe imo.
