Connected the drivers side O2 sensor. Oh man. 10 new bruises and scratches. That is a pain to get to. Nevertheless, the P0155 is gone, check engine light is off. Finally victory !
Only wrench light remains, will be fixed with new RCM.

Good for this weekend, parts coming in Tuesday to finish the build.

I wonder if you could put the 2010-2012 gt500 feature of making each gage cooler different than the other. Since I bought my car I would like to do that.

Working down my punch list. Fixed the microphone today. There was nothing wrong with the wiring, it seems like the older APIMs don't like the newer microphones. So I wired up my old mirror mic and that fixed this issue.
Left to do:

- put the new RCM in (Tuesday)
- replace sway bar (Tuesday)
- add new battery tray (Tuesday)
- swap EPAS (Friday)
- refill A/C and get alignment done (Friday)
- swap SJB (Thursday)

I also gave her a good wash yesterday, so she finally looks great again. The swap has left some serious dust/dirt on her.

That's the way to punch every item. The fact that you've thought about the effort needed to execute each individual task and scheduled them accordingly is impressive. You're motivated and it shows in your work ethic.

Major kudos Lex.

Thanks Tob. However that schedule is dictated by UPS and FedEx... Basically that's when the parts come in... I can't do anything right now... But except for the EPAS, everything is a pretty easy and straight forward task. I will update again on Tuesday night....the three items shouldn't take longer than an hour to complete.
From Tuesday on I can finally drive and enjoy it.. I guess the mod bug is coming soon. The 65mm CJ TB is already on the wish list :D

Alright. Here is the progress and some new findings :fm:..

Added the new battery tray. You can clearly see that it is spared to fit the large cylinder head.

Old vs. New

Installed:

2015-10-06 16.02.38.jpg

Then I have added the new sway bar. As you can see it is bend further down, to ensure clearance of the oil cooler lines:

2015-10-06 16.13.50.jpg

Now here comes the fun part and new findings. I installed the new RCM and, well I now got the Airbag light back on...
IDS tells me: U3000:4A-8B - Incorrect Component installed... I PMI the RCM and no change.
I put my old module back in and got the wrench light again (RCM can't talk to FPDM's - of course - that the reason for the new module). Now how do I get the new module to work in my car? And why does it say Incorrect Component? If an AR33 works with a DR33 PCM, why can't a BR33 work with a DR33 PCM??
Here is the answer.....(took me a phone call to find out): This code U300:4A-8B means incorrect year from either ABS or OCSM (- well I can eliminate ABS, as the DR33 ABS works fine with an AR33 RCM...) so it must be the OCSM. There we go.
OCSM is the Occupant Classification Sensor Module (part of the bladder). That explains a lot. So basically the OCSM year designator (A=2010, B=2011, C=2012, D=2013 etc) must match the RCM year designator. Ergo a AR33 RCM must have a AR33 OCSM, etc... Basically I need a 2011 bladder (the OCSM is part of it, and you can't buy just the OCSM)..

Now i am pretty sure THAT is the reason, why everyone who buys the MC Recaros must swap the bladder on older cars !

I will search car-parts etc for a 2011 seat and once I have it, I can swap the bladder and RCM and get rid of the wrench...

I put my old RCM back in, as a wrench light is better than an Airbag light.

Updated Punch list:
- Install new RCM and OCSM (once I find a used 2011 passenger seat)
- swap EPAS (Friday)
- refill A/C and get alignment done (Friday)
- swap SJB (Thursday)

I did a short drive to fill her up and noticed a clunk on the rear drivers side. Turns out, one swaybar bolt was loose. Tightened it up and I will see tomorrow if the clunk is gone.

Have fun reading,

Awesome work man.

When I had my conversion I had an ABS error when I put the GT500 seats in ('06 GT to '07 GT500)

I didn't have to swap the bladder, I basically just popped off the bottom ABS sensor (a few pop rivets) and mounted my old ABS sensor from my '06 to the new seats.

I imagine you could do the same and that would correct it.

Well, not really. My current RCM works with my current OCSM. However, my current RCM relies on the external shutoff switch, instead off having a direct connection to the FPDM's for fuel shutoff. That can only be resolved with a newer year RCM (2011+). However the newer RCM requires a newer OSCM. So in order to get rid of the wrench light, i need to upgrade both to 2011+. Hope this helps,

Update: I found a seat from a 2011 and ordered it. Should be here in a couple of days. So I am getting there slowly :)
The clunk was the loose sway bar bolt. That is now gone. A/C refill is scheduled for Friday 3:00pm.

Slowly closing out the punch list:

- Install new RCM and OCSM (October 17th - I am traveling next week)
- swap EPAS (Friday)
- refill A/C (Friday)
- Alignment (Saturday) - the shop who does my A/C refill are scared to scratch my rims, as their alignment system clamps onto the rim - they will give me an address of a shop that has adapters for the lug-nuts
- swap SJB (Thursday)

I am going freaking nuts with that Airbag thing :cuss:

Here is my current punch list:

- swap EPAS (tomorrow)
- Alignment (Friday next week)

Kinda short, right? Well, no the seat didn't come in yet and I didn't get the new RCM to run in my car.
I just did an as-built update from the 2013 Shelby on my 2010 RCM (just out of curiosity as I PMI'd it a couple of times with no success) and vola, wrench light gone, DTC's gone and my RCM now talks to the FPDMs.
Essence: waste of $$ for new RCM, waste of $$ for new seat.
Positive: No warning lights, no DTC's anymore. All clean.

Getting there, learning a lot... I did not PMI my SJB, as last time it took over the config from the "old" vehicle config ... I suspect the BCM-B is as fault on that one...the only module besides the RCM that is a 2010 module. Maybe i just swap that one for future easiness... No priority. High beams work, everything else looks good, too.

Left is EPAS and alignment...

Almost done

EPAS is in. Quiet as it should be. Took 3 hours to swap. 1 1/2 hours to get the three bolts loose. Man that thread locker that Ford puts on their bolts is a nightmare. Oh well, all good now, I just need alignment. Steering wheel is a little off.

Now i can enjoy the car...... And yes it's awesome ...

HANDS DOWN BEST MOD EVER!

Now i will break it in and then think about mods :D

So alignment is done, steering wheel re-centered, everything is in spec.

SWAP COMPLETE !

Now i was driving around a little bit today. As the engine has about 550miles on the clock, I did a couple of WOT runs up to 4k rpm and WOW I now understand your guys traction issues. That thing chirps all the way through 2nd gear....

But it's pure FUN to drive....

Now I will enjoy my new beast and maybe add some stuff over the winter....

Mission accomplished - I got tons of complements today from random people..
