So i jumped up from the vmp twin 67mm TB to the FRPP single blade TB. Now I know a lot of people are always worried about driveability but I can say this T/B drives perfect, now as far as how much power the single blade picked up over the twin 67mm IDK, but im guessing its around 5 to 10whp. Now I got a new tune from Lund and a revised tune from VMP, since I have been told Lund is the man at tuning the single blade T/Bs and that's defiantly a yes, It honestly drives better than stock, I couldn't be happier. now I haven't tried the VMP tune yet so I cant comment on that, but I will get around to it. But if anyone is thinking about going to a mono blade don't fear.

I've been thinking about swapping from my twin 65 to a mono, it's good to hear you don't have any drivability issues.

Ya I drove the Shelby this morning to cars&coffee and it ran perfect, I'm super impressed with the mono blade, and Lund did a awesome job tuning it.

BPS went above and beyond by overnighting it the day before a race and I've never given it custom tune to work on the TB but you are correct there are issues.
I know I'll eventually go with a KB blower and can't argue the results with the 168 mono TB, so I'm swapping before the custom E85 tune.

Did you trade w/ the member on here or buy new?
Yes i traded with another member, he said his tuner couldn't get the mono blade to work right, IDK who his tuner is but he should of talked to Lund.

Thanks man, the car felt amazing doing a 60 to 130 pull this morning, I talked to Jay about going to the KB 168mm TB and I kinda wish I did, but the FRPP mono blade is working great, Lund did a awesome job with driveability.

You would need the XBA elbow and a bigger JLT if you went the 168 KB route

I spoke with KenB himself and some guys from PBH about that setup. The elbow will be bigger with their setup, but you will need the bigger CAI to run with. I may try a FRPP mono later, I already have the oversize elbow. I already know my tuner can tune it easily.

Correct, when Jay was porting my TVS and inlet he said he could weld on the bigger adapter plate to run the 168mm TB, but at the time I wasn't sure if it would be worth it and I was worried about driveability, but now I wish I did, o well the FRPP mono blade is working great.

Couple items to point out.

With the FRPP Oval Throttle Body on a 13/14 GT500 any of them made February 2014 or later are good to go. We discovered intermittent issues with the FRPP Oval that were made pre-February 2014. So if you looking for new or used make sure you have the correct date!

Accufab makes throttles for FRPP

Accufab does not make throttle for Kenne Bell

The XBA Inlet and Kenne Bell Oval throttle body is the next move in the evolving nature of getting as much power as we can out of these cars whether they are stock or built. The drivability with the KB 168MM TB is excellent. FYI. You do NOT HAVE TO SWITCH the CAI!!! You can still use your JLT 127 or JLT 123 we simply have to get a different coupler from JLT to mate the 123 or 127 to the monster Kenne Bell 168MM TB. I've already done that for a number of customers that didn't want to switch to the larger CAI.

Glad you're enjoying the tune 2011 gtcs!! Thanks for the support!

Van I was told by another member that you don't need a retune if you swap from the FRPP twin 65 to the FRPP mono is this true?

Quick question Van: would the 123 be choked off with the bigger KB setup ? I guess you would use a reducer on the TB side that would be fitted on the KB mono and reduce it down to the tube, but wonder would you not want to use for say a CJ 140 with the bigger TB.

This is interesting, Van. So is there any reason why somebody would want to go with a dual 65mm over the mono blade? If the drivability is perfect with the mono blade and it makes more power, it seems like a no brainer to go with that one over the dual 65mm. I would think there has to be a catch going with the mono blade. Is there a catch?

The catch is most tuners have issues getting them dialed in, I had one on my 07 Shelby and had issues not sure if it was the tune or the TB but it never drove 100% right . The 65 is a sure thing, you give up some power but you don't have the headache of trying to get it dialed in.
