It made 378 HP???? That's nearly LESS than OEM...with a stroker and Port??

Hope you have both some skills and more $$, because, I'm sorry to say, I think you will need both.
Good luck OP.

As stated, you have your work cut out for you. But kudos to you for restoring this one and saving it from the crusher.

Your budget/plans will be dictated by the status of the motor--that should be your priority right now. Replace all filters, plugs, gas, etc, and do a compression test. If that checks out, get the car to a reputable tuner and go from there. Once you've confirmed the drivetrain is kosher, the rest will all fall into place. Fresh trans and rear end fluid.

Not sure why all the panels don't line up---check to see that the frame is not bent anywhere. Get the car aligned once you have good tires and a fresh tire balance on the car.

The two biggest issues with this car that can make it a nightmare for you would be a hurt motor, and/or bent frame.

I would take the interior completely out of the car and have it professionally cleaned--the mold/mildew smell is nearly impossible to get out otherwise. Doesn't sound like much thought was put into this car by your buddy. Good luck

hope nothing structural is bent up under all that

the stuff growing in the car doesnt mean it was a flood car, we have some cars that sit around in the garage in NC all year and only get used for a month and a half or so each year and several have randomly grown mold and such inside from the humidity.

hopefully it just needs a tune up and a good tune, definitely get all that sorted/checked out and get it on a dyno somewhere before trying WOT antics

THIS are my exact same thoughts, there are if i'm not mistaking like 3 respectable modular cars around (performance speaking), every other thing has a f'n L engine, this is the ONLY 03-04 Cobra in my city, go figure, i'm just 15min from the RGV, any respectable shops that can take a look at my car?

the idea of going to a 281c forged shortblock was because i was offered a trade to really make the ported eaton shine but after buying the car i'm a bit short on funds right now, and its a good thing to think with calm what exactly am i going to do with it, first off all make it drivable, it has an oil leak from the oem oil cooler, called the dealership and they're not made anymore lol no more 4.6/5.4 stuff, yup, time has passed, so first thing is fixing that, i have my bets on it still having stock injectors, and it appears to have a BAP.
Headlights are gone so are Taillights (waiting for a friend with a riced up V6 for a trade of stock ones, lol)

let me go get some pics for you guys, BRB

OP - Once you get underneath the car to change out your oil/filter, try TIGHTENING the oil cooler housing together (i.e. - turn the outer half of the oil cooler, with the filter off, to the right). The oil cooler housing is actually two pieces that screw together with gaskets in between. The very first time I changed my oil on my Terminator we had to force the oil filter off because it was previously over-tightened and the oil cooler housing itself was unscrewing itself apart with the filter... oil started going everywhere and I thought I had cracked the oil cooler housing!! But upon closer examination, it looked to be two halves so I simply screwed them back together and then put the new oil filter on... no more leaks ever since!! Bone dry. I'd at least try that first. Car looks much better already, keep going with it and as stated before, change out all fluids, filters, plugs and gasoline... and if you have to get a SCT tuner with a canned tune or take it to a tuner that is reliable and that you trust! Good luck and keep us updated!!

OP... I bought this kit for my oil cooler and it hasn't leaked since

OP dont listen to all the haters, they just can't comprehend doing actual work themselves. My favorite threads are when someone plucks out something a bit rough and saves it, keep on!
