The K-member with bolts, hardware and motor mounts from BMR weighs 26.4lbs (per BMR)

You looking about a 20lb difference (maybe a few more or less)

So is most of the NVH gained coming from the stiffer motor mounts? Anyways BMR vs UPR...BMR weighs in at 27 lbs and UPR weighs in at 18 lbs. Both manufactures claim stock k-member is 44-45 lbs.

Our K-Member is 26.4lbs, with the engine mounts/hardware - a-arm spacers, and bolts..

The "other" brand, may be 18 bare, without hardware, I do not know. I do know that there is a member on the S197Forum, who made some claims about the "other" brand being 22lbs....and the stock K-Member being 50lbs. So he was saying he saved 28lbs. We had a big long discussion about this on that forum.

Needless to say, the other brand is definitely lighter - there is no arguing that. It utilizes thinner material. As to how much exactly, it is more than likely in the 4-6lb range.

There is a huge difference between the '79 - '04 Stuff, compared to the S197's. The older Mustangs saved much more weight. Now, let's hope - for BMR's sake; that the 2015 doesn't come equipped from the factory with a 25lb k-frame....:(

I really didn't mind the extra noise that came with the k member, we put the k member on the blue car, cut a bunch of weight, and to be honest, I didn't think it was bad at all,

i'm kind of old school though

we have the bmr k members and the upr ones.

great price shipped on the bmr for members

Just thought I would share this. I had a shop come purchase our K-Member, and he brought the piece he was replacing it for, with him.

Kelly, there is simply no comparison in quality between the BMR and UPR K members. Side by side, it's easy to understand why BMR weighs more, it's built stronger. I'd sacrifice 2.4 lbs. of weight saving to gain ridgitiy and quality any day of the week.

Not sure if the new cars are anything like my 93lx but its well worth doing it all...kmember, a-arms, springs and caster cambers if all thst stuff is available. On the old cars just the swap in springs was a ton of weight. You will certainly notice your front end coming up under hard acceleration.
