When Terry ran us in the semi finals we has spraying. He's running 30lbs of Boost and Spray.

Our car is only on 23lbs of Boost with a 75 Dry Shot.

We were ultra conservative this weekend because we wanted to win the event.

There is a ton left in the car. You will see a 7 Second pass from it sooner then you think. :)

Congrats on the win. Are you guys running the standalone coyote control pack on that car or are you running a production GT strategy?

Yeah Ken B. said it could up the boost.(Green Goblin) But I wasn't aware of Terry spraying as he didn't mention it and his MPH was only 2.? faster. Prior to that he had said he didn't spray it yet. Odd that he would've sprayed and not netted a better 60ft. A centri would love the spray early! Guess will have to wait til tommorow and ask him.

We didn't spray off the line, our nitrous engaged from 5,200 RPM - 8,000 RPM. Like I said we were being very conservative this weekend because we wanted to win the event. Now that we won, we're going to crank it up. ;)

Our best run on 23lbs of Boost Only was an 8.55 @ 161MPH with a 1.26 60ft. Our MPH is right where it should be. We have the suspension dialed in pretty good and aren't spinning.

This....

Beef now has racing brakes, sheetmetal intake etc. As long as it's plated and insured, it's a street car, but it's not like he showed up in a brand new car from the dealership and just threw a blower on it, it's getting close to a race car. Regardless, they are pushing the envelope and hopefully pushing Ford to fix the damn block.

I know another Turbo car was trying to test on Friday to go to Norwalk but obviously didn't make it. I'm curious though as to where the other TT cars are at or even Nitrous cars?

x2 on anyone else pushing some limits!

The suspension being dialed in is no joke! LOL!

Factory 2013 Mustang GT computer that came with the car.

Very cool, are you guys feeding the PCM a speed sensor signal so you can log with MPH? I'm doing a glide (sfi case with no provision for a speed sensor) and am trying to figure out the best way to get MPH with my regular SCT logs to find converter slip. Anything you guys are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Terry busted his ass to get his car together and showed up at the eleventh hour, which is a lot more then I can say about some people and shops that claim to be the best when the only thing their doing is racing dyno numbers, talking smack and when the time comes to put up or shut up they just no show.

Terry and I are friends we just break each others balls. If he needed something at the race and I had it, I would give it to him. The same thing applies if it was the other way around. It's called respect.

Congratulations Terry for being a man of your word and showing up to the Shootout that so many other people and shops didn't.

The car looked awesome and once you get her dialed in she's really going to fly.

Sounds like it was a fun time. But it seems some people have forgotten both beafcake an evo cars are race cars an not street cars. An they run really fast.

You guys are mixing up street car and race car record IMO... Beefcakes car still has a radio, a/c and hell even airbags. The silver evo car that beat him for the record did too (as far as i remember). This green car is a race car. Its a gutted base model car with nothing. No a/c, airbags, etc. Technically its not even "legal" to drive it on a highway. Its still awesome and i love the car but dont mix up street car & race car records.

We took out about 275lbs for the race. No longer has a/c or radio (still rocking the back up cam though, lol)

Power's nothing if you can't put it down.

The car can put it down, I wasn't spinning. I was bogging.

Normally I foot brake the car to 1.40 60's, foot braking to 1500. I can now stall to 2000, but didn't want to push through the beams. We tried out a 2 step on the car and the first 2 passes, I just screwed it up. 1st pass I forgot to let off the button for the first 1 1/2 seconds of the pass. Then it lifted the wheels.

2nd pass, went to put it on the 2 step, and didn't hold the brake. Pushed right through the beams.

3rd pass, did everything right, but at 1500, it just bogged.

I decided for the round against nelson, to just foot brake it. I was out of the groove not foot braking all weekend, and didn't get my r's up before pulling in the beams. Normally I get set at the first bulb and bump in during competition. The car will stutter for just a second when first bringing up the r's.

I bumped in both bulbs, and didn't get the r's up before the lights cam down, and bogged again.

The car will have no problem with 1.3 60's and 8.5 to 8.4 et's without the spray. I think we were seeing around 27psi out of the ysi. (at peak 7400)

it went 162 mph without the spray bogging. With a decent launch, we'll be 163 to 164 without the spray. On the 166. I used a 50 shot halfway through 3rd gear and about 3/4 of 4th gear.

Once ken gets the 2-3 shift dialed in, we'll be spraying the 50 the whole track.

As far as comaring the blowers, not the cars, but the blowers themselves. To say I am running 27psi vs 23 of the whipple is a little misleading.

If you look at boost across the curve. The whipple is making 23psi through the entire run down the track. Mine makes 28 psi, but that is at 7500 rpms on the dyno. The 1-2 we shift at 5600, the 2-3 and 3-4 we shift at 7200. So average boost, the whipple is making more. I don't doubt that one bit, we probably averaged across the entire run about 20-21 psi.

At the end of the day, we lost, no excuses. Just need a little more time under our belt. We finished at 1am Saturday morning and headed to the track arriving at 5am, lol.

Once we lean on the ysi a little bit, and the spray, the car is going easily into the 170's and 8.2's or better on the factory trans foot braking it.

My goal with the car is to put the factory trans into the 7's. We'll see if it can be done.

Exactly, there is always the friendly rivalry and smack talk, but at the end of the day, it's a great time.

Without competition, we would all stay very complacent. lol.

Congrats on a job well done.

Big props to Terry and the Evo crew for getting their cars ready and doing what they had to in order to be competitive and possibly reset the record. The competition is awesome! Evo stepped up to the plate but I'm sure Terry will have something for them, but will it be enough? Who knows...either way I like hearing and reading about it!

Great job to Terry and the Evo crew for pushing these cars to a really sick level!

Hmm

Ha!

I'll tell ya u can't knock a PDB aspecially with spray.
Great times for both cars I would of loved to see the runs.
^^^That! Don't need any excuses or swingers

It's ok if somebody other than Beefcake is quickest (notice I didn't say fastest :)) for the moment, world isn't gonna end. The guys built to the rules and today Evo won. Congrats to all involved, that is just a ridiculous level of racing when these cars are well into the 8's at 160+

something else worth of note, we were running at close to 3k corrected feet of air, wasn't mineshaft by any means.

Congrats to all involved, sounds like a great weekend of racing! A big congrats to Terry for working the late nights and getting to the track. It's nice to see the MMR Pro Mod blocks out there being pushed!

A big congrats also to Dan Hale on the west coast who turned a 5.26@143 (1/8 mile) this weekend making his Fox Bodied Coyote powered beast the 2nd Fastest Coyote ever - also on the new MMR Pro-Mod block!!

On 8.5's even. It is good to see some more coyote action on the west coast.
