What also needs to be addressed is the fact that animals displaying homosexual behavior are not true homosexuals. They are committing bisexual acts since they continue in nature to reproduce with females.

A true homosexual animal should find no attraction to the opposite sex like we find in humans. If the animals are in fact attracted to females as well this may show that homosexuality is not genetic. It may show that sexual preference is more based on life experience/opinion than anything else since preferences are usually just opinions based on life experience anyways.

Outstanding. This is exactly why we will eventually have federally recognized gay marriage, because it is no different than any other civil rights struggle this country has seen. It's just taken longer for us to get here than it has for other groups.

At the end of the day both the physiology and species survival prove that it is an aberration of nature, not the normal process.

For example, the anus is watertight and expels feces. All movement is outward from the bowels.

The vagina on the other hand has a superb function of its muscles working towards procreation and receptive of the penis.

Semen in an anus is nothing more than a mixture of lubricant, man-goo, and crap.

To take it to hyperbola, if all humans became homosexual the species would cease to exist. There is no way this is the natural outcome. Anomalies occur, but they are neither the natural course of survival nor the normal physiological operation of the body.

Outside of that, I don't care who does what to who as consenting adults.
If all hetrosexuals didn't reproduce our species would cease to exist. So should procreation be a prerequisite to marriage?

Many gay porn stars identify themselves as straight and go home to their wife and kids afterwards, as they make many times what they could in straight porn. Many gay men(not bi) have sex with women for a variety of reasons such as experimentation, etc.

I have no idea why you people correlate homoesexuality with an inability to reporduce.

This.

I think people have started making that correlation due to the fact that people started making comparisons to animals and what is natural/normal/whatever word is acceptable by wurd2's standards, behavior on the basic level of "animal instinct"

In any case, we've successfully drifted completely off topic on whether or not religion is the cause of the discrimination of gay people lol

Before we get back on topic:

Evolution can preserve abnormal traits and qualities as natural byproducts of genes that do offer normal traits and qualities (see my moth example above). It can't be a coincidence that every sexually reproducing species bears its homosexual members. So, homosexuality could have biological roots somewhere in the genes that manifest our sex organs. We may never discover them or know for sure, unfortunately.

Also, we should keep in mind that evolution is a blind, imperfect process with zero foresight. Hence, we are the poorly evolved mammals that we are. As Eugenie Scott recently put it, it's not survival of the fittest, it's survival of the fit enough.

There is no "gay" gene... This is just another one of societies efforts to pass the blame, not take ownership of ones own actions. Being gay is ok since its not their fault, they were born that way. Same thinking as blaming "military style weapons", instead of the messed up person who pulled the trigger, or blaming video games/movies of kids being violent, instead of looking at the parents and how they raise/discipline their child. This just puts a bandage on an infected wound, yeah it covers it up and makes it seem ok but, the underlying issue is still there.

What do you mean pass the blame. If someone is content with being gay, why would they feel the need to take blame for something they accept?

See that's the issue... People like you an your ideology is affecting your ability to see outside of the box. Just because you feel like being gay is something bad you assume that everyone else should as well... Not everyone views being gay bad or an issue.

I could say being religious is the cause of idiocy but I don't, I just accept it.

Nope I stated society. Not gay people passing the blame... Societies push for acceptance of gays looks for something other than the truth which, is it is a psychological issue not a genetic one.

Its funny you claim to know my ideology but its way off course. Please don't presume to know how I feel regarding gays being bad or not. It's funny that people who state there is no gay gene automatically are close minded ignorant not outside the box thinkers.

The issue is people like you can't openly discuss topics because anytime someone has an opposing view you slander them as ignorant bigot close minded backwards thinker etc.

And the religous jab. How is trying to live to be a better person idiotic? For ultimately whether you believe in god or not, the bible is a manual on how to live to be a better person. Don't kill, don't steal, etc.

Nothing like a bit of social conditioning through religion and lack of understanding. Why anyone believes it is their business to uphold the morality of their religion in politics in order to push individuals into believing what they believe is beyond me. I fully believe gay discrimination is due to religion. It's a bit of that and fear mongering as well. I've been told before by someone "Where will it end? If we let gays get married, we might as well let people marry their dog since they will call it 'love' also". I suppose it boils down to believing that true love can exist between not only just a man and a woman, but a man and a man. I'm not a homosexual but I think it's important to remember that if the shoe was on the other foot, I would feel greatly oppressed as well with individuals telling me what I felt wasn't real.

My point stands:
Homosexuality occurs in nature and is therefore natural.

That is an extremely poor and juvenile argument.

Hundreds of thousands of people lose their life on a daily basis by being murdered. Would you deem their deaths natural because someone else decided it was time to end their life?

In the realm of death, murders occur, therefore being murdered is a natural way to die.

Does that sound logical to you?

Marriage is a social construct to begin with. I don't believe human beings are naturally homogenous creatures. Social conditioning and thousands of years of social evolution has evolved into a majority being homogenous. However, if you consider sexuality, i.e. hetero vs homosexual, that really is only used as a label by humanity. Your sexual preference in a pure state of nature lacks no label, it just is what it is. The only obvious argument you could make for heterosexual over homosexual tendencies is procreation, however social evolution has changed our stance on that anyway.

SCBQQSTN, I will formalize my argument to better explain it.

Premise #1: Homosexuality occurs in nature. source
Premise #2: Natural is defined as occurs in nature. source

Conclusion: Homosexuality is natural.

I submit to you that this is a sound argument. A sound argument is one in which the conclusion is necessarily true if and only if all of its premises are true. If you cannot see that my argument is sound, then you are intellectually defective.

This leaves you to refute at least one of my premises in order to debunk my argument, let alone claim it as poor or juvenile.

Good luck to you sir.

Why do I care? Well....lets think this through.

I believe in heaven and hell. I believe hell is an awful place. I believe both are for eternity.

So, you expect me to just go "eh, so they're going to hell for eternity...I'll just look the other way"....do you look at a child near an iron or an oven or running near a busy street and go "eh, they're only going to burn or kill themselves...i'll just look the other way".

No, you dont. Any decent person, if they believe someone else is in severe danger, they try and do something about it.

I believe drugs are horrible. I believe they should be legal because people should be free to do what they want. But that doesnt mean I sit there and go "oh hey, they're ruining their life on drugs...I'll just ignore it". Nope, I would still say something to them about it.

So yes, I do care.

I'm going to keep asking until you answer... How, exactly, is this hurting you?

Your response above shows so much egotism I can barely stand to read it. Does it occur to you they don't want or need your help? From what I've seen from your posts, you have plenty of your own shit to concern you. How about you worry about yourself (along with the spawn you're busy indoctrinating) and leave others to live their lives they way they choose?

I'd love it if a bunch of gays descended on you and your brood to hold forth on how messed up your beliefs are and how you really should consider the joys of their lifestyle.

Good for you but why do we need to hear about this at the level of public policy where reason and evidence truly matter?

I'm not religious in the least bit, and not against gays, but I am against gay marriage and the media pushing that shit on people everyday.

Most Americans don't want to hear about it, and as long as homos shut their mouths and go about their business, i believe almost everyone else (except for the true bigots) would go about their business as well. It's the MEDIA, like always, who creates this drama.

Quit with the glorifying and celebrations of gay lifestyles too. We get it, you're gay. Who cares!

Couldn't have said it better.
