The AED tune is great. There aren't too many more things in the automotive world more fun than banging off shifts at 8,000 rpm with a clean sounding, ballsy small displacement V8 engine. I love how mine runs and the only other thing I have is an off road X pipe and Steeda CAI.

The mid range throttle response is very good. Waaaay more punchy than stock.

Highly recommend it to any fence sitters.

I had Shaun tune my Boss about 2 months ago !!!!!! First drive I was waiting to hit the limiter at 7500....... blew right pass it too 8200 :banana:scared me for about 10 seconds. then I went balls to the wall. LOL !!! The tune is amazing, I have Steeda CAI and Jeg's cat deletes also . The only difference is I have Flowmaster Outlaws on mine, and at 8000 rpm's I will wake up a small city !!!!! LOL

Cool, looking forward to seeing your graphs. Letting it rev that high might reduce the longevity of your engine; are you planning to install the Cobra Jet crank trigger ring? That is supposed to clear up any ECU timing noise above 7800 RPM.

Do you have link, in regards to this? As for longevity. Again, these motors are safe to 8400 RPM (some say 9k RPM's), they love to rev, and make power past 7500 RPM.

very impressive, love that lopey idle! well done!

Thanks. Just trying to pass the word, to other fellow SVT members here.

Very nice! This Engine shines from 6k on.........

This motor shines throughout the powerband, which amazes me. Must be due to the linear tq.

thanks to you I just emailed Shaun, and he said just let him know when Im ready..LOL I BLAME YOU! however I would probably get bigger injectors and run the corn through it as well based on my butt dyno from my last car.

Uh oh. Someone is getting the mod bug in them, again! I would love to hear how the corn works, if you do it. :)

i just paid for my tune! Send that shit ASAP Shaun! LOLOLOL!

You're gonna love it!

I couldn't say it any better, then you have. I have a thing for high rev'ving motors, and its music to my ears, hearing these motors spin RPM at 8k.

When I get my Boss, calling AED for sure. 8200rpm :uh oh:

Talk to Shaun. You will be amazed how high his business ethics are. He is one stand up guy, who knows his product and is very passionate with his customer base.

I know the feeling! I have Corsa X-tremes. Do you have any sound clips? I was actually looking for a new exhaust, that will tone the sound down, just a notch.

loaded my tune last night and HOLY SHIT is the only way to describe it! Having an 8200 rpm redline is like driving a motorcycle on 4 wheels!

more power especially in the midrange and sounds great at that RPM!

go and get this now!

By the time I'm ready to go aftermarket we should have some good data points on any harm the 8200 may cause the engine from you brave pioneers! :)

Grand Am teams may run 8400 but they are likely rebuilding their engines every season (at minimum).

Not saying I don't like the option for increased power and increased RPM capacity, just trying to approach this cautiously as a new engine is $12K.

I don't think bravery has anything to do with it. I'd say if you own a Boss and still live with having to shift at 7200 in order to avoid the rev limiter, you haven't lived. Granted Grand Am cars DO tear their motors down annually (a testament that it is once/year), they are running WOT full load/RPM for a number of engine hours whereas those of us who have Shaun's tune might only spin it to 8-8200 for mere seconds at a time. As long as you maintain your car, always use good quality fuel, and drive with your head, it should live a long, happy life.

I turned up my shocks to firm last night and coupled with the AED tune it felt pretty bad a$$.

Besides- it's only money- lol.

What???? This sounds incredible!

What on earth are stock boss putting down? 417 sounds crazy high for stock

So basically a tune, cat delete pipes, and a knN intake got you almost 470rwhp????? Did I miss something somewhere?:??:

That might be a good justification for the drag race guys, but for those of us that are out on the road course things are a bit different. My car has seen the factory rev limiter many times :)

Anyways--this is something that interests me and I look forward to long-term evaluation results from whomever is getting these tunes. In the meantime, TracKey is good enough for me.

oh I KNOW the corn works good.. 30whp gain with JUST the corn tune, N/A... 2011 GT E85 Results - DFW Mustangs

wow, thanks for the sharing that link. Now you have me looking into it. Is this payback!? lol

You work quick! Glad you like it. I put a lot of research into choosing which tune to go with, and I feel AED is hands down the best and most safe on the market.

IF I so much as load a tune into this car, E85 will be the end result... It made my GT a TOTALLY different car. It ran a 12.2@114mph with a K&N drop in and the corn with a set of sticky tires.. and that was BEFORE I found Shaun and ran his corn tune (that were much better) and then actually modded the car. My goal will be 500whp N/A if I start modding the Boss. And after seeing your numbers, I bet its very obtainable with your simple mods and the corn.

No problem. The car has been on the track twice, since the tune. I have no problem being the test mule, if thats what some would like to call it. I remember getting a lot of questioning & concerns from Boss Mustangs online, when I lowered my Boss and its functionality/performance gain - over the stock suspension. Now I see quite a few of the guys are doing the same Suspension upgrades. Which I think is great, and the beauty of having the internet.

I think its one thing to modify something, beyond its limits and another to do it responsibly. Give Shaun @ AED a call, if you have any questions. He is seriously a genius, when it comes to these cars. Also any extra Track feedback questions you have, feel free to PM me.

The Boss 302 is an amazing machine in stock format, but there is room for improvements.

Well justification-wise, I drag race AND road race. I don't think it would be wise to be zinging the motor up to 8200 rpm for a 20 minute HPDE session at all, hence why I said "drive with your head". In fact, for HPDE events, 7k is more than enough revs most of the time, as most road courses only require ample mid range power, of which the stock Boss (and AED tuned Boss even more so) really stand out strong. Besides, our street Boss's including LS's don't have the water pump design to support cooling the motor very long for sustained mega high RPM's over a 20 minute session, that water pump is fitted to the 8400 RPM 302S and 302R cars, as they aren't designed for mundane commuting speeds and have a different impeller design which prevents high RPM coolant cavitation around the impeller, something the street cars don't have.

Quick blasts in the lower gears to high engine speeds are fine, I just wouldn't recommend long WOT 5th gear pulls at 8k+ rpm.

When I first discovered that the rev limiter wasn't set at 7500, I was as giddy as a school girl on valentines day. I noticed that my SCT3 had the 7,500 rpm checked off as the rev limit, so I figured might as well go find out. Shaun said there is a "soft limited" at 8200 and a regular limited at 8,300. I haven't taken mine to that stratosphere yet, but it is damn cool having the revs of an M3 at half the price, AND ample torque to boot.

Who knows, maybe one of us will end up hurting his motor running these RPM's. I doubt it, but I'm sure if it will be anyone of us, it will surely be me. I didn't think I'd blow up my Coyote 5.0 with 12 psi either, but that's another story for another time.
