Not sold on RG3
We'll both find out twice a year for the next 10 years.
Not sold on RG3
ESPN is reporting to be shopping around McCoy. I guess Weeden is their starter.
Wow, that's a serious albatross to hang around somebody's neck.
lol, you could never be too cocky. If you dont understand RG3 now, you never will. He's the total opposite of Russell.
For sure and he should be. Colt didn't have his head on straight worth a shit. Weeden should have the composure to help the Browns finally get somewhere. Now all he needs are a pair of good receivers and an O-line and he's golden. Weeden won't disappoint Cleveland.
Tannehill by Miami wasn't their best bet. Tannehill, at best, was worth a mid to late 3rd rounder.
Blackmon and Blaine Gabbert should be interesting combo though. Jags haven't had the best seasons in quite a few years.
Miami wasted their first round pick.
Glad Detroit got Mr.Glass some protection, now we need a reciever since Johnson got the Madden cover.
Broyles when Konz was still on the board.... So they apparently brought Millen back for an honorary pick?
Phins reached hard.
Cheifs blew it.
Seahawks
Titans reached
Lets hear what you think of the NFL draft, who reached for a player, who got a steal, and why?
I hate the Cowboys, but they really got a good deal moving up to number 6 in the first round to get Morris Claibourne. With the other additions in the offseason they are turning there defensive backfield into a very improved group.
On the other hand I don't understand taking DT in the first 15 picks, this year the Chiefs take Dontari Poe. He had sick numbers at the combine but didn't really show up on the field. Only 3 years ago they drafted Glenn Dorsey at number 5 in the first round, in 3 years he has had only 3 sacks. All while making 10 million a year! Im not that great at math but thats 10 million a sack.
didnt see dallASS moving up to 6.. **** the cowboys. i hate them. and their stupid trade to get claiborne.
Wow, that's a serious albatross to hang around somebody's neck.
I'm willing to bet the Bucs would have moved up, they did to Doug Martin. I love the Weeden pick can't wait to see how it pans out.
Well the Texans didn't make a big splash but filled some positions of need.
DE Whitney Mercilus- I'm not a huge fan of this pick especially with Hill still on the board at the time. I saw him play a few times last year and he did very well, but he was still a one hit wonder in college. He'll help give depth at OLB though with Mario gone and I think he'll be a solid pass rusher. If anyone can get the most out of him I think Wade Phillips can.
WR DeVier Posey- As much as I hate him (I wonder why?!) I think he'll develop into a decent WR. He has a long stride and will be a good deep threat with his ability to adjust to the ball, which is a bonus with Schaub throwing to him. He has good natural ability but is very raw on the technical aspects of the game, but with Andre mentoring him I can see him being pretty decent. I wish we had picked up a better WR with our first pick though.
OG Brandon Brooks- I love this pick. He's a huge OL who is strong and also versatile. He started at 3 different OL positions in college. I see him being a very solid OG for many years for us and helps give depth with the loss of Briesel.
So far so good. Nothing fancy and it could've been a little better but I'll take it.
You guys had a very risky draft but it could also pay off big time. It will be interesting to see how this draft looks 3 years from now.
Definitely. We also picked up Ben Jones, one of top centers in a weak draft for centers (wish we had taken Molk!). He's big and a decent run blocker but needs work. Fortunately for him he has one of the best (if not the best) centers in the NFL to learn from. Keshawn Martin is an interesting pick up at WR. He'd be best as a slot ninja due to his size and speed. Jared Crick is also an interesting pick. He was injured this year but he performed well when he was healthy. He's a high motor guy that will fit in with what Phillips likes to do and he'll have plenty of guys to learn from, but again, raw. I can see 2-3 solid starters out of this draft. We sure went after the Big10 this year.
As for the Bears, I think they had a solid draft. I like the McClellin pick. He'll give you a nice pass rush right away. Jeffery goes without saying, great pick. Hardin is a gamble and I haven't seen what he did at the combine or his pro day. I want to see what Rodriguez does. He should be a nice target and big playmaker for Cutler.
EDIT: Forgot to add that I wish we had picked up McNutt in the Martin spot. I'm actually pretty surprised he fell as far as he did.
You know Jared Crick could be one of the biggest steals of this draft if his pec is completely healthy and doesn't give him anymore problems. He had a 1st RD grade by many before the injury. So you guys did really good with that pick. You're overall draft looks very intriguing. Texans have a great core and look ready to challenge the Patriots for supremacy.
The Bears, like the Texans, went with a very risky draft. I like the versatility and speed they added, but I'm going to wait awhile to see how this draft shakes up. It was an unusual draft compared to the ones under our former GM, so its going to take some getting used to thinking the "Patriot way." I'm stoked with Alshon Jeffrey. If we couldn't have Michael Floyd, he was the next best thing. And I'm real interested to see how this Rodriguez guy fits into everything.
Texans-Bears is going to be one heck of a matchup later this year.
