I just picked up a magnaflow catted x and was thinking about the magnapacks too. Do they drone around 70-80 on the freeway? How is the cabin noise? Can you carry on a conversation in the car without yelling? Ive had it with droning on long trips.

Yes there will be drone. I had the catted x and packs on my 04 GT. It's a mix between a little drone and just volume of noise.

It will sound good thought. I drove 16 hrs with a o/r x and packs and was about to shoot myself. Since then I have been picky about drone.

My current catted H and dynomax VT's work great with no drone.

I have stock exhaust with the magnapack catback, at highway speeds it will drone some with windows up but if you roll them down you wont even notice. I always drive with my windows down so it's never been an issue for me.

Believe me I wish I could, but I live in an apartment complex and I don't have the room to do the work myself. Plus the thought of the car falling on me doesn't really sit to well with me lol. I remember that there was a member on here who lost his life when he was working on his cobra and the car fell on him. I'll just be patient and take it to the shop on monday. I was contemplating getting an intake but I was reading on mach1R that all you really need is a k&N filter and your set. What do you guys think? Did you feel any difference with the intake?

I don't have an intake. But I do run the K&N filter. Everything I've read basically says CAI's are pointless on these cars especially close to stock.

However I have an old issue of 5.0 or super fords that they installed a CAI on what I believe was a stock mach, and threw it on the dyno and got 15HP from it. However I'm sure the tune had some to do with that.

The exhaust is finally on! Amazing setup. Check out the vida below to hear what it sounds like. The magna packs are great. This setup does backfire a lot but that was to be expected. I put her on the dyno today as well and she put down 304HP and 328 torque.

Here's the vid of the car on the dyno.

Fail both times linking the video

and if you ever want a more badass sounding 4v... get the borla XR-1 mufflers.

I had those....do they come in different offsets? I had some stock ones from a Saleen and they were center/center inlet/outlet...I didn't see how they would work with an SRA.

I linked the vids from an iPad. When you click on the links do they not take you to the videos? I clicked on the links after I posted them and they worked. Forgive me if my YouTube skills aren't as efficient as yours. I rarely post videos at all.

I don't see why they wouldnt? It's just welding on mufflers. Borla 40941 - Borla XR-1 Racing Mufflers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

and here is a link to a 01 cobra with full exhaust including the borla xr1 mufflers: 2001 Cobra with Kooks and Borla XR1's - YouTube

Before I even clicked on the video I knew what one it was LOL

That's a Cobra...IRS vs our SRA...with the room available with our SRA and how the pipes are, the backside of the muffler would be some funky bends to make a center in/center out muffler work (not talking about a glasspack style).
