My alternator once again failed on me! 3rd one yet. I have always used the stock 03/04 cobra 130amp alternators. But now im thinking that i draw to much power, and it causes my alternator to over heat, thus burning them out.
Media in CAR:
1 double din dvd player in the dash
1 12inch RE SUB in the trunk
1 RE AMP 1000 watt
And all of the tweeters and speakers are changed to diamond audio
Also have a BAP and Nitrous toggle switch.
Could all of this be drawing way to much power and causing my alternator to die?
So now im getting my alternator rebuilt to be 140-160AMP capable. Would this be enough to sustain all of this multi media without having to replace the alternator a 4th time?
Im thinking i should go 200amp... just to be safe? where would i get a rebuild kit for 200amp?
Any info would be great... thanks
