I would never let me Fox Terminator go for anythng less than 20k. These terminator swaps you guys are talking about going for 12k - 15k isn't a totally swap terminator. A Fox Terminator like mine and a few other guys that did this swap the authentic way knows how much cash, time, sweat, blood and tears this project take, these cars are very rare and I bet you dont have over 20 COMPLETELY swapped Fox Terminators in the country. Like i said, nothing under 20k for mine, go try to build one yourself and you will see. Mine has a 3.4 Whipple with all the bells and whistles and will smash almost anything and everything I have ran up against on the street. If any of you can buy a car that traps in the mid 130's and low 140's for 12-16k let me know because I will be all over that!!!!

state of confusion
I've got a 98 Cobra with a Terminator swap with a Posi Race blower that I will let go for $12,500. :)

I'm open to trades for an extended cab Silverado or GMC Sierra too. :)

If you think you can build a properly done swap for 9000 then quit bitching about not being able to find one for under 20K and build it yourself.

I personally have had two serious people hounding me to sell my car to them for 25K. I have more than that in it so its not going anywhere until I get tired of it, which may never happen. :)

And about it not being an investment. Clean Foxes are getting harder and harder to find. The prices on them have been climbing. Then add the rarity of the swap and I would say over time you have an investment.

The seats in my 04 and the way the dash is make me feel crammed into the car, the fox makes it feel a little more roomy for me. IMO

If you have noticed, I haven't posted anything lately on this ad. I'm not bitching about you guys being on cloud 9 with your prices. Mod Fox swaps are ONLY rare because you have to either total or buy a totaled 03/04 Cobra to swap it in a Fox Body. You act like you ordered this engine crate from ford, then bought all the accessories from ford. You didn't, you either bought the car the way it is or bought or wrecked an 03/04 Cobra and swapped it into a Fox. Yes, it may have cost big money to build this 4 years ago, but it doesn't change the fact its a $3K roller fox with a $10K wrecked donor swap.

Than quit telling us how cheap they are to build and step up to the plate and build one. Then you can show off your car and tell us how cheap you were able to build it.

Don't take this the wrong way but what I get from your posts is that you are unexperienced in building cars. I think you are very naive about the costs of building a custom car and you really need to build one yourself to find out the truth.

Good luck with your build. I look forward to hearing how cheap you were able to build one of these cars.

Stop filling my thread with your nonsense about how much you think your car is worth. No one will ever pay $25K for a Mod Fox unless its some spoiled rich brat. Anyone with a brain knows more than well the car isn't worth any figure close to $25K. Yes, I UNDERSTAND it has a lot of sentimental value to YOU, but to me it has none. It's a car. I understand when you don't purchase a donor there will be an extreme cost to build it right. Hence why I will buy either an already swapped mod fox or I'll buy the donor and put it in one of my own fox's I currently own. If your ever in Northern Virginia, please feel free to stop by my garage and take a look at the cars I've built, then tell me I'm naive about cost...

I'm an ignorant newb but not afraid to ask why a Terminator swap is preferred over a well sorted out pushrod 5.0 build?

Either one can easily get you 400rwhp which is really getting hard to make full use of due to traction limitations, except for maybe drag racing.

I don't think the swap makes the fox lighter.

I don't see the IRS as being any real advantage except for when you are trying to accelerate on a bumpy surface, but that is kinda neutralized because the HP available with a Terminator swap should always allows you to break traction.

Interior swaps and such, to me simply date the car to a slightly newer design, that still isn't current anymore. I prefer the Fox setup as it has become a classic style and can still be modded for more comfort.

I've done my share of motor swaps. I'm just not sure taking a 20+ year old car and sticking in a motor that is 10 years younger gains you anything you can't get out of an old 5.0.

I do understand wanting to build something because you can- but there is a bit of artistic pride that enters the equation. Wanting to buy a Terminator swap already done by someone else? I just would like to understand that angle more. Not trying to start and argument, but looking to understand it better.

You're kidding right?
The new motor is capable of MUCH more power STOCK,
A 302 is basically limited to 500 or so hp before the block splits, at this point the mpg, reliability, and comfort level all suffer. Meanwhile a terminator motor can make 500 hp EASY and still get great mpg and reliability.

There really is no comparison.
