Manual, no contest. But my reasons are my own and may not apply to you. Plan on taking it to the track? Drive in a lot of traffic? Do you know how to drive a stick? Does everyone in your household know how to drive a stick? Lots of things to look at before making the decision. However, the manual will be more fun, let you feel more connected to the car, and imo is required for a drivers car like the Mustang.

I plan on going to track some probably only a few times a year. Ive owned manuals all my life. Dont drive in alot of traffic and nooone else is driving my car.

If you plan on using it as a drag car, then go Auto. The transmissions now are awesome. Throw some 4.10s in it and mash the pedal or heck even some 4.56

If it's going to be a fun car/weekend warrior/occasional track car. Manual is (IMO) more fun to drive. But unfortunately slower.

i own an manual coyote. and the autos are far faster. especially with a tune and 4.30's. they smoke manuals. and they dont blow clutches like M6's do.

sorry but i hate people that have auto in there mustangs, it goes to show that drive isnt up to trying to lauch there car, yes auto are fast and are more constant, but i rather have my fun in a little slower manual that i can drop gears whenever i want to, thats just like the guys that buy v-6, i hate them because i think muscle cars should only be v-8

 anyone can stick their foot to a gas pedal, i guess some prefer to lose the driver mod vs knowing how to drive. also your comment is not true

im with chris on this, the new 5.0 auto smokes the manual with ease. but for road course you need a manual so i voted for a manual.

If both cars were stock the manual may take the auto at the drag strip. But with gears and stall....no dice. Once again..it isn't about who's a man, what's more fun blah blah blah. It's about the guy at the end of the track..FIRST or more consistent. Manual for the street & road course, auto for the drag strip. Unless..you just want to go be a man have fun and be 2nd consistently.

Manual is slower on the strip, but auto's are absolutely HORRIBLE on the track. Few things piss me off more than the car shifting mid corner. And when the car isn't shifting mid corner, it's shifting after the corner as you roll on the gas. I love waiting for the car to downshift so I can accelerate down the straight. :cuss:

have you had problems with yours?

no clutch problems. no sticking on the floor even at 7k rpms. nothing. but i dont put sticky tires and race at the track. thats where the clutch issue will rise. i do powershift it a lot. i do drive it hard. i did take it east for 2k miles though on the clutch.

im have an m6 2011 and wish i had an auto. my other car is an auto and the turbo LOVES it. i get 4 psi overboost on shift. it hammers the gears at 6900.
