so 1st tune is now completed. Sleeper and i went out yesterday morning, and got her running good! All held together perfectly. Only running my 3.2 upper only pulley, was seeing 15 psi on the boost gage. Final tune is 15psi, 23 deg, and 11.5 AF.

Car is running excellent. Pulls awesome for such low boost! You can really feel where the 10:1 compression differs, def a worthy mod. I will drive around on this tune / boost level for the fall and winter, and will then crank up the boost come spring (if I can wait that long). Engine has 354 miles on it now. The car really seems to plant itself better as well, I was having little issues with traction in 1st or 2nd with my toyo R888s, aggressively rolling into it. Weight transfer is noticeably better as well, I assume due to the fact the car has a much lighter Aluminum block in it now.

I will probably hit the dyno in October sometime.....to see how she does at only 15 psi.

awesome bro! I cant wait to get my swap done so I can enjoy the corn fuel.

Beautiful build! I'm glad you decided to go with the higher compression. I'm a big advocate of high compression. It's the one "constant" in your motor that can never be changed. Lower compression is not an effective way of managing detonation. The other variables in the tune are.

I have a 10.3:1 longblock with 12LBS of boost from a procharger and it makes 40 more HP than my low compression long block at 1000 RPM's lower in the range.. with less boost.

My motor isn't even forged, and I'm not running E-85.. but the high compression and the centri are a good combination, in my opinion. It has better mileage, better throttle response, and more power before the boost kicks in.

I'm in it for numbers!!!

Easy there big fella.....patience is a virtue! I'll dyno this 15 psi tune sometime in October

As I said yesterday....GITTERDUN!!! I sure hope your trains move faster than you do :bash:

good input Homer. I can already tell the benefits of the higher compression....this car really moves out for only 15 psi.... can only imagine what 20 psi will feel like.

so just an update, car has 450 miles on it, all is running well at my little 15psi level to date. At 500 miles I am switching her over to German Castrol 0w30 synthetic, broke it in on motorcraft 5w30 syn blend.

So i ditched the coolant overflow tank, and converted the washer fluid reservoir to be my overflow tank, cleaned up the engine bay a bit. Also built an aluminum radiator cover, had it powdercoated black, so it looks mcuh cleaner with overflow tank relocated. Installed strut tower brace as well, had to make 1/8" inch shims (under brace and strut towers)to clear the blower since the lighter weight aluminator does not compress the motor mounts as much.

Awesome B! Let me know when you get the RR 2.6 pulley I shipped you yesterday, I imagine you would have it today / tomorrow.

Didnt show up in the mail today. should be here tomorrow along with my plugs. I'll drop you a rating back when I get home. Time to get back to work. I'll actually have her started and running again here in about an hour. just cant go enjoy any throttle until a retune.

Awesome pics and build. I just finished my break in on mine to... was getting final dyno pull this morning by my tuner when one of the pumps seemed to let go at 4000rpm. I am at about 14 to 15 psi as well, and now have to wait for the new pumps. But she did well up to 4000 when he shut it down. 512rwhp and 528tq @4k. I used to hit 18 psi with the old set up, now I am down about 3 psi, but already building more power at 4000 rpm. Liking the new Aluminator. I ordered the 8.5:1 comp...but from what I can tell, there isn't much difference with a good tune. Mind you I am no mechanic...lol

Looking forward to some final numbers on your car man.... Looks great.
