The Mach 1 was pretty quick. It wasn't the top dog SVT but they would run high 12s at 105+ with gears and 17in drag radials. 11s with full bolt-ons NA and slicks. They had the same bottom end that the 01 NA Cobra's had except had a touch more compression of 10:1 instead of 9.8:1. If you optioned and an automatic it reduced the redline, lost a little rated HP and gave you a cast GT crank. The heads and cams are off the 03-04 cobra, marauder, and aviator which the cams aren't as aggressive as the NA Cobras. The heads are better then the 99-01 cobras. Same intake as the Marauder and pretty much identical as the 99-01 cobras. The auto Machs were about 3-5 tenths slower then the manuals. In 05 the 5r55s auto was a dramatic improvement over the slush boxes of old it closed some of the performance gap between the auto and manual. And the new autos are very impressive closing the gap even more to were they are within .1-.2 tenths of the manuals. Still prefer a stick above all else in the performance car world.
