I will be installing a zex blackout kit on the coyote in the next couple days. I have free tunes for life through bama and they will tune up to a 100 shot. My question is since zex rates their hp numbers at the crank can I run the 125 jets on the 100 shot tune so that I will have close to 100 hp at the wheels?

my thought is call bbr.. they have one of the best reps in tuning nitrous 5.0s.. bama tunes are notorious for having to much timing and kr. when dealing with this expensive of an engine spend the little extra for a data logged tune.

Thanks for your kind words.

OP, with rating some brands, they go by crank as you have mentioned. With a 125, you will see around a 100hp more but a lot of factors still play. Your trq though will still be higher then hp levels too. Any questions, please shoot me a call. Can help you out with tuning and what to set it at.

Since Zex rates their power levels at the crank, you'll be about equivalent of a 100shot using their 125jets. I'd use the 125 jets as you mentioned. Bama has tuned a ton of Mustangs on nitrous. I have no doubt yours will be in good hands!

Feel free to contact Bama Tuning Specialist or myself if you have any other questions!

Just FYI for anyone who may be interested after speaking with Steve and Bama performance on the phone they both advised me not to run the 125 jets with the 100 shot tune so I will be sticking with the 100 jets. I hope to get it installed this weekend and go to the local 1/8 mile track this Sunday I will update with time slips if I make it out this weekend.

Just wanted to update thread I have not made it to the track yet to compare numbers but I will tell you when you put the pedal to the floor you better hang on! I have put about a bottle through it so far and these coyote motors seem to love nitrous. I am running a bama tune and have sent a datalog in for review just waiting to make sure everything is all good before I take her to the track. From what little I know about tuning the logs looked pretty good it was commanding about 19 degrees of timing at wot on the 100 shot. I am still on stock plugs and gap but have some NGK's on order. If anyone needs some parts or other goodies advance auto online store has a promo code for 40 bucks off a 100 order, that's where I ordered my plugs and went ahead and got some windshield wipers and brake pads for my truck no more metal on metal grinding when stopping lol. The code is trt41 you are able to pick up items in the store that are in stock but I am still waiting on my plugs to arrive! As a noobie to nitrous if you are on the fence about it do it! And I want to thank everyone who pointeded me in the right direction and responded to my pms!

FWIW, I put a 150 shot on my car and while I only picked up about 130hp I gained 200lb/ft of tq. This was a zex kit as well.

Enjoy the spray!

Cool man yeah the torque is where it's at the car just squats and goes and doesn't let up until you let off lol.
