Umm... isn't that faster than the $150k Ford GT? :poke:
Motor Trend shows the GT at 0-60 in 3.6, so yeah, it's hanging with the GT. Damn that's fast.

the good news is that cobras will own stock vettes under just about any condition. i'm not sure any bolt-on mods will get a cobra to beat 3.7 though. that is unbelievably fast. i remember in the 80's/early 90's when lamborghinis and ferraris broke 4 seconds and everyone thought it was amazing.

I've seen somewhere and I think it was C&D magazine got the GT @ 3.3 0-60

A pullied Cobra with DR's will do 3.7 and probably below

if chevy said 3.7 you can assume its conservative, so its all relative. i think it would take a twin screw to get a cobra under 3.7 though. our cars are simply way too heavy.

C&D's numbers were all estimates. There have been no factual tests performed on either car.

General Motor's also said the CTS-V goes to 60 in 4.6, the Best i have seen is 4.8, and every magazine i have read said thats on the best conditions with a lucky launch, I wouldnt count on GM being to conservative.

WRONG! the GT has been tested by every mag out there. The Z06 #'s are speculation. Per motor trend, the GT runs 11.2 @ 131 (same day/track the enzo ran 11.0@133 for comparison). The Z06 will not be doing that kind of MPH. I expect mag #'s like 11.7@125 give or take a tenth/mph.

Your right the Z06 will be a full half second behind the Ford GT. :rollseyes

The GT should be a few tenths faster than the Z in the 0-60 a quarter mile will yield a drivers race I do believe.

sorry but ~6mph difference in trap speed is a different league alltogether.......think LS1 vs. 4.6 2v. Could a good driver in a stock 2000 model mustang beat really bad driver in a 2000 Z28?, it could happen but not because the Mustang was really a match for the camaro.

I hope the 200K, Supercharged, Rear Engined, "Supercar" does take the Z by a half second in the quarter after all the Z costs 65K and is naturally aspirated.

Should the Z hang in the 0-60 or quarter what an embarassement for Ford.
Considering many C5 Z's broke into the 11's it is safe to say the "Supercar" is well within reach of the C6 Z,a car with 100 more HP.

Guess you missed the article where they stated they got 11.7 at 126.2

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupe/112_0506_blood/index4.html

That one had the MT best of 3.6 0-60

I think 11.7 at 126 is a better number to go by, after all in this article the SRT-10 was a little more than the GT could chew in the Quarter.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupe/112_0401_vipandgt/index3.html

The 3.3 0-60 I have no explaination for except maybe some help, the mental kind.

That Second artical you have listed was a pre-production Ford GT, when they where only rated at 500hp, read the artical, not just the performance listings, every other artical in most magazines are consistant with the test bettwen the GT Enzo, and CGT

the Z06 is very impressive with a 0-60 of 3.7, but the gt500 should be 3.9-4.0 which puts it in the same league with the porsche 911 turbo, the viper, and the Z.

as said before....that was a 500 hp pre-production car and the cars were not even tested on the same day OR in the same location. That was also the single fastest mag trap speed done by an SRT-10. Try this:

http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=15&article_id=7565&page_number=4

from the article
"Rocketing the GT to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and to 150 in 16.9"
