DO NOT BE A COMPUTER PROGRAMMER. Unless you like sitting in front of a computer writing endless lengths of code, and getting paid only modestly, but if you do go for a career involving computers, DEFINATELY learn programming, makes a resume look much better.

I can tell you the same thing that I told my nephew, unless you can pay for college go in the AF, take the most advanced training possible (electronics) and GI Bill do the 4 or more if you like (or go guard) with the work experience and training it will open doors, not to mention a little discipline and teamwork. Either way good luck!

In perpetual exile....
I went to K-State and got a B.S. in Ag Economics w/ a specialty option in Finance and a minor in Spanish. Now, I am an ag loan officer in a bank outside of Wichita, KS. To tell you the god's honest truth, I don't work very hard here compared to past jobs but the pay (although nothing to get worked up over now) has a lot of potential for the future. It is a very secure job but in reality I would rather be back home farming and raising cattle.

If I had it to do all over again I would have joined the Air Force right out of high school. Just I just got denied going. I got to wait to June 26th to join which will make me 24 years old which might be too late to join ? Just it'll help ya get a leg up see the world as long as you don't have anytrhing holding you back close girlfriend or whatever. If I could do it over again I would join in a heartbeat. Just get some high tech training, and I was told the career I was going for was not guarnteed and wanted me to list three other careers. Just try to get a guarnteed job if ya go. I'm sure there are other guys that can help ya alot better than I can though. Anyways Good Luck ! !
